Small trattoria tucked away on a side street, not far from Termini. The bruschetta was delicious. Beautiful tomatoes, freshly baked bread and perfect proportion of olive oil.

The food - a grilled fish, a lemon chicken - was well prepared and delicious. The waiter was very kind and personable. A very pleasant lunch.

Wonderful food, staff, and restaurant! Had an amazing dinner of Lasagna and lamb chops and a great bottle of wine. The limonchello cake was fantastic. The best part of dinner was our incredible waiter. Felt like we were having dinner in his home. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Rome!

So much fun! Ivano and Valentino make you fell like family the first time you meet. Food was amazing as well. This is what dining in Rome is all about. I will definitely be going back soon!

Directions from App on Google took me to wrong location. I persevered and located the restaurant using the name in Google maps. Well worth the visit. Traditional Italian restaurant , with great staff and food

The lamb ehere 95 % bones, no kidding, taste was okay. For 2 glasses of Brunello 2018, they charged € 40,- no kidding either. Never again!

Valentino is a character and a half, (I think that,s his name) full of locals so it must be good. Great food and a very reasonable price. Serenaded by Valentino on his guitar.

This restoran has good food, service is so-so. When paying keep in mind, the waiter (old man) writes the cost in a notebook and the bill is much higher then what is in the menu. Also the receipt is not given.

A lovely little place with superb food and a fun atmosphere. The owner occasionally brings out his guitar and serenades the patrons. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to dine after 8.

Well worth the walk away from the more touristy areas. Such a fantastic welcome from Giovanni who is the perfect host: warm, funny and a great guitar player! Traditional Italian food in a traditional trattoria. You will not be disappointed!

4 nights in Rome and this was our very fav restaurant and memory. If you are lucky, the owner comes out and serenades you. It was a pleasant surprise and a memory we will never forget. And the food is authentic and not your typical tourist-y spot which are on every corner in Rome. Also, the price point!!! Such a great and inexpensive spot for what you get. Same dishes are twice as much in in other restaurants and don’t taste half as good. We got the Caprese, Vongole, Cacio e pepe and some amazing limoncello cake. Would get the same things over and over again. Thank you for such an amazing time. We will be back next time in Rome.

Nice restaurant and very friendly staff with great humor! The food was maybe not the best compared to other nearby restaurants, but the nice waiters more than made up for it!

We were in Rome for 7 days and visited trattoria giovanni di Valentino twice, as we were so amazed by the food and environment. Both servers were very friendly and we loved giovannis little music act, as he grabbed the guitar and began to sing. The food is amazing as well, very fresh and affordable. All and all I can just say, if you want good food and very kind servers, please visit this lovely restaurant. Thank you so much, we will be back !!

This little restaurant was recommended by a Facebook group about Italy and it did not disappoint. The staff was so fun and the food was delicious! Give this place a try, you won’t be sorry.

Very welcoming with a great atmosphere. The impromptu guitar player was brilliant, bursting into song every now and then. Food was very good both in taste and value and the service prompt and friendly. This is a proper trattoria and a real gem.

Visited this place for the 1st time because if it being close to our hotel. We definitely felt at home at this restaurant. Great Italian Family cuisine! We'll definitely go back when in Rome.

It was the first time making a reservation with thefork and it was perfect. I received a confirmation plus a call. When our group of 16 people arrives everything was prepared an we had a nice dinner. Trattoria Giovanni di Valentino is a small place, but special. Even this time (it was my 4th visit) Giovanni took his guitar and sang a few songs like "Lasciatemi cantare".
