The food was just not that good.

While serving the dishes, the waiter moved the bread basket and caused a piece of bread to fall onto the table. He simply turned around and walked away as if nothing had happened. I called over the waiter responsible for our table to question this. When the waiter who had dropped the bread saw that I was raising the issue, he came over with a big smile and said that the table was clean… Isn’t that rather shameless? Eventually, the restaurant replaced the bread with a new basket. As for the other instances of rude service, I won’t even bother going into detail — you can experience them yourself if you decide to visit.

The staff was friendly and polite. The beef carpaccio appetizer was very good, and enough for two to share. The wine, however, was far below what should have been expected for 20 Euros per glass - it was almost that we had been served a poorly kept Chianti instead of the Bordeaux ordered. I did enjoy the risotto with mushrooms. My wife did not enjoy the Bugatoni, which seemed to lack some of the ingredients shown on the menu. I’m sorry for this review since the owners seemed nice, but the wine ruined the meal. Ordinarily I would have complained about it.

Popular spot for the theatre-goers, Villa Dondelli straddles the line between chic and kitsch, with a life-size Vespa Fiat 500 sat next to the wine cellar. The service is efficient but lacks warmth, especially during rush hour. The menu is on the pricier side but the quality is there, featuring both Italian classics and a few more elaborate creations. The excellent pizza section is probably the value pick for tighter purses. All in all, a quirky villa I’d be happy to return to if I’m the neighborhood.

It was our first time to dine at Villa Dondelli for dinner. We had been there twice for lunch over the past year. It feels like home! Food was amazing as was the service. Thanks for a great evening!

Been to this restaurant many times, the service is great, and it feels like an authentic Italian place. The food is excellent no matter what you order. We love love love this restaurant and would recommend this to anyone coming to Paris!

I love Paris, but I don’t love French food. When I need some really good Italian, nothing fancy this is my go to and it never disappoints.

We were a party of 7 with one being a 4 year old. We were seated at a table and area spacious for everyone. The restaurant was very clean and our server took great care of us. The food was excellent. Every one was very pleased with their choice of cheese pizza, lasagna, tortiglioni with eggplant, mushroom risotto, and calamatara with seafood. Focaccia and olives were served prior to main course.

We visited Villa Dondelli in May for the first time. Absolutely loved it. Brought our friends back to celebrate my birthday on this trip, and we were equally impressed? Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!
