10/10Came here for Christmas dinner. Usually my partner and I eat in but we love trying new things and we chose Viva Afrika. We got the platter for 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it. And the restaurant itself was beautiful the minute we walked in. 10/10 spot for sure!

8/10Absolutely delicious food! Loved all of it! Unfortunately, the service was very slow (restaurant was not even full) and it seemed as they were treating the Dutch speaking customers better than non-Dutch speaking…but again, really good food and big quantities too!

7/10Viva Afrika offers a wide selection of dishes from Africa, it has a casual and colorful atmosphere and good service. We stopped by for a chill dinner for 2; tried the jollof rice and pagasisus dish (assa-kelwa), both were quite flavorful, except for the side salads which were dull and unseasoned. Assa kelwa is served with the enjera bread, a sour flatbread, that resembles a pancake and it's nice if you're into sour tastes, I personally love it. For dessert, we had the tjakrie and baked bananas, and I think the tjakrie was the highlight of the night for me. It was delicious and not too sweet, like a "down to earth" rice pudding. In general, they have decent portions, and the food is good value in general. We were satisfied with the service, our food arrived quickly and the staff was helpful. I skipped the beers and went for a wine, and I was pleasantly surprised by it, they have a decent selection of wines from both South Africa and France. But do try out their specialty African beers if you haven't had them before. Would recommend if you want to try out African cuisine in Rotterdam.

10/10I really like their injera mains - tasty meat but it’s the spinach and lentils that deserve a special mention. Second time here and definitely will be back again (and again) ☺️

10/10Food was amazing! Service very quick, until the end where our desserts took a while. Even then, one of the servers came along to ask us about it without us saying anything. Soon after, the desserts came, which were amazing. Most of the food seems to be designed for esting with your hands, although they're more than happy to bring utensils when asked. Staff, apart from being quick, is also super friendly too!

10/10Delicious as always. My friend is a fast eater so sharing one plate would mean war, but it’s fun to do. Also be sure to feed each other a bite of enjera. Nice service and atmosphere. The banana beer compliments the food very well.

9.5/10Get the Ful as a starter if you like buttery cumin goodness. The enjera menu items are delicious, the spicy Kinto is probably my favorite, but any won’t disappoint. They have vegetarian options too. Oh don’t forget the banana beer!

10/10This is a very nice restaurant with very good food and friendly waiters. Really enjoyed our stay and happily recommend Viva Africa. Conveniently located a short walk from the Museum area with many street parking possibilities nearby.

8.5/10Great food! Nice interior and cosy outdoor seating. Only thing that let it down was one member of staff who was a bit of a brat. Didn’t want to give a fork to a paying customer to pull apart sticky chicken off a bone. Told me to use my pancake. If I have never ripped flesh off a bone with a thin pancake I don’t think personally that is mess free enough to do in public.

9.5/10Food and service was great! Very friendly waitress. Down side would be the noise coming from the street (cars and motorcycles). Besides that I would recommend and return!
