Our waitress Diana was amazing. The whole staff was super friendly and accommodating. We picked this at random and were delighted with the food and the atmosphere. We already have reservations to go back. Note the this place is small even with two levels so I would advise reservations. It was completely full when we were there.

Such a great experience. Our last night in Barcelona after a number of high quality dinners but this one took first prize. Thank you to our server Emilio for perfect recommendations and providing top notch service. Highlights included the scallops, beef tenderloin, and prawns. Rarely do we order dessert but we did and were blown away.

Everything about our dining experience at this tiny gem of a tapas restaurant was fantastic — from the service to the menu choices to the flavors of our food! Our definite favorites were the pork cheeks, tenderloin, ceviche, and burrata with tomato, with scallops and paella coming in a close second. What really blew us away, however, were the desserts: the custardy French toast with vanilla ice cream and the crema catalana foam with mandarin sorbet! Out of this world delicious! Accolades to the chef and to the very hospitable waitstaff and owner! Make sure to secure a table through reservations, as this place fills up quickly.

For the price, the food did not meet expectations. Having tried it myself, I don’t understand the glowing reviews—this place unfortunately fell short. We ordered scallops, paella, duck, grilled prawns (not on the menu), and coca-cristal bread. The scallops were tender and nicely presented, but the sauce did little to enhance their flavor. The grilled prawns were decent but nothing worth noting. The duck started off well but had several pieces that were too chewy to enjoy. The paella was the biggest disappointment—bland rice with very little flavor, tasting like instant gumbo rice, which is disappointing to be served in a restaurant. Regarding the bread, it’s listed at €2.50 on the menu, but they charge per person which was not explained at time of order, and each portion consists of only 2-3 very thin, small slices. Overall, spending over €80 for this meal felt like poor value. There’s definite room for improvemen

We arrived and were greeted by the owner who was extremely nice even though we were about 20 minutes past our reservation time. From the moment we sat down everything was exquisite. The service, the drinks, and the amazing, delicious food. Highly recommend the Ceviche, Paella, Steak Tartare & Tenderloin. We even ordered a 2nd round of the ceviche and tenderloin. Xera is a must go to and so far the best food we’ve experienced in Barcelona.

The food was truly amazing. We had the ceviche and it was one of the best I’ve ever had - perfectly balanced. Also had the paella and the pork cheek - excellent. Pan con tomato and the patatas bravas were good as well. A must visit if you’re in Barcelona.

We enjoyed an excellent meal at Xera. The host was welcoming and helped us select a delicious set of dishes. We particularly enjoyed the eggplant, burrata, scallops and duck. Great experience and highly recommended!
