4/10Everything is not in standard with this price. I am now understand why Xerta is out of Michelin one star ranking in 2025. For me, it's not even qualitify for Michelin selected restaurant. Xerta is just a normal restaurant and the menu is overpriced

2/10Really terrible experience. They pretend to be Michelin Star— even having the Michelin plate on their front door— but they are not. The staff are over loaded, missing basics of service, and were suspended we were unhappy. We had the full menu and all dishes were bad…the fish wellington was not edible and ‘Yule log’ was a mess.

5.5/10We didn’t feel that we were welcome as a family with four children. They didn’t offer any adaptations of the dishes. Maybe we were expecting a different experience.

10/10This is our fourth time coming to this restaurant every time we visit Barcelona. It never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the chefs are fantastic. We usually get the prefix menu as it offers the most for your money. Might come here one last time before leaving for the states.

7/10The place was nice, it didn’t like the way to present some dishes with models. Some dishes were very good, but others were just ok. The service was excellent, butI didn’t like they serve an apéritif when you arrive but it’s an extra not included that they don’t tell you.

10/10We were staying at the Ohla and wanted a Michelin starred experience. On our last night we did the tasting menu paired with wines, highly recommend. The sommelier was on point, the service staff was so nice and explained the regions of Spain the course represented. Presentation was so nice. We absolutely loved it. The price to value is very reasonable.

9/10We've been fortunate enough to visit a handful of Michelin starred restaurants, so this review is weighted heavily against those few, incredible experiences... First things first: we appreciate great culinary storytelling, driven by a purpose and a passion - and to be perfectly clear, the food at Xerta delivered both. So any criticism following is -not- directed at the food, which was exquisite! A story and theme were delivered throughout the meal, from the playful, tropical King Crab dish served in its shell (making an invasive predator of the Ebro Delta into a delicious snack) to the smoked paella dish, delivered to the table in a model of a fisherman's house - every dish displayed masterful technique and outstanding tastes, behind whimsical presentation. Even when it seemed over the top at first glance or explanation, the dishes delivered complex flavor in each bite and continued to amaze with their coherence and creativity. Yet what fell flat - and added a disappointing undertone to an otherwise exceptional dinner - was the service, particularly the timing, and cold demeanor of the staff. For an 830 seating, it took 30 minutes before we received our first bite of food. Disregarding that late start, we were served 6 tasting menu dishes over ~2.5 hours, at varyingly frustrating intervals that always felt too long of a pause for a menu designed around small dishes/bites. This was ultimately followed by 2 (3 if you count a plate of cookies) dessert courses rushed in ~15 minutes, to finish the dining experience 3+ hours later. While that timetable isn't unmanageable if well executed, the intervals between bites, combined with the impersonal and terse interactions of the staff at Xerta created dissonant notes in an otherwise well designed menu - not only did we leave feeling less than full, but the marvel and wonder at each incredible dish dissipated over the intrusive thought of... "when is the next one coming?" My most personable interaction was a thumbs up exchanged with the chef in the kitchen, who was visibly excited to see my appreciation of the food served. The prior shortcomings are not inherently a fault of the kitchen, nor the restaurant as a whole, and so the 4/5 star review is truly intended to encourage others to try it, as perhaps this was an 'off night' or otherwise uniquely unfortunate experience, but I can't help but feel that if front of house & back of house had been in a better rhythm about firing subsequent dishes, or created a more welcoming environment, it would've significantly improved our experience, which we were greatly looking forward to. It didn't help that we dined at a Michelin 'recommended' locale (Pur) the night before, which, without a star, offered far better service. Yes the food was simpler and less technical, but the overall experience felt more akin to Michelin-starred restaurants we have visited before, than Xerta.

9.5/10I'm looking for food experiences all over the world, for a better understanding of cultures and to open my eyes to a new kitchen horizon. The chef spoke using his degustation menu about a small cityscape and easily made me feel the beauty of this small town and its rich of life river, words can't explain how beautiful experience I had. Service was also wonderful and even fun. PS: one of the best pigeons of my life, almost cried because remember about the one made by my grandma.

10/10We went to Xerta during a vacation to Barcelona. We wanted to experience the local cuisine and Xerta did not let us down. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere that allowed us to enjoy a nice conversation while we tasted an explosion of flavors. Watching the chef work was like watching an opera itself. The passion and dedication he puts in every dish is second to none. I highly recommend this place next you are in Barcelona and if you are looking to immerse yourself in the Catalan culture, their degustation experience is a must

9.5/10+1The restaurant relied on the hotel bar for cocktails and the bars ended was not very experienced - could not make a Vodka Martini with a lemon twist. This is no fault of the restaurant but waiting for the martini which was made 3 times and he still got it wrong - was an irritation.

3/10Highlight: Service is terrible ! DON’T COME!!! 1. First time to do reservations through no one speak English. The manager turn off 3 times, they may have a lots guest to come due to it is Michelin. 2. When arrived in advance to say please manage whole dinner within 2 hours because not everyone have enough time to eat. Like we have jet lagged. Even inform in advance we should wait 4 hours to get food. 3. Last step to get a bill. Manager ask to pay in the bar. But go to the bar wait the manager to get a pos machine 10mins. 4. To the end: food is ok, service really terrible. The manager worry that to give a discount even no one ask it. Even not care what happened. 5. The terrible manager is Tony! Suggest: after talk with one lady who speak English. They say because get a lot guest can not give good service. But if it is Michelin maybe to manage the reservation and keep high service is also important.

10/10My wife and I were celebrating our FIRST wedding anniversary, and this was exactly what I had imagined. Not only the restaurant had great ambiance, but the food was just OUTSTANDING. Michelin Star well deserved for a truly mind blowing experience, truly one of the best amazing opportunities I’ve had in my life. I’m a foodie at heart and this place now has a place in it! 10/10 extremely recommended.
