Beautiful space, but disappointing experience. I had looked forward to dining at Zambeze for months. The restaurant decor and setup are lovely, but the welcome was lacking — the host simply pointed to a table in a nearly empty room, and we waited quite a while before receiving menus or service. The menu is limited and doesn’t allow simple side requests, such as vegetables not included with a main. On the positive side, the meal presentation was attractive, and the views are nice. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return, especially not with a group. Better directions or signage would also help guests find the entrance more easily.

I had the vegetable curry which consisted of spinach, zucchini, tomatoes with skins on and another green leafy thing swimming in a sauce. I think they took the left over old veggies and threw them in. Also had the chefs couvert which consisted of nice olives and a wedge of indifferent cheese, a samosa with mince and two fried balls of indeterminate heritage. I ate them all as I was hungry and just as well as the vegetable curry was not great. My husband had the salmon salad and the sautéed mushrooms which were nice but were picked as the rest of the menu didn't look too inviting. A beautiful setting but lacklustre food

The area where we were sitting had these very unpleasant ceilings lights straight to our eyes and it was hard to see the people in front, not to say how annoying it is having to eat the whole meal with that light straight in your eyes. The food was good and so was the service. The best dish to us was the duck ;) strongly recommend! Shrimp Laurentina Style was also very pleasant.

The restaurant opens relatively early, likely to cater to tourists. We had a reservation for 7:30 and the restaurant did not open its doors until 7:45. We were then seated in an empty restaurant and ignored by the staff, so walked out at 8:00 with the restaurant still empty.

The food was mediocre. The octopus salad was mostly fat, and the main dishes lacked flavor. Service was slow. The outdoor tent was loud. Would not recommend because the food should be way better for the $$$.

We don’t exactly enjoy ZAMBEZE. While the food was very good the service was seriously lacking. They had several large parties and completely forgot about us; even though we told them it was our 30th wedding anniversary. At the end of the meal, the server apologized “sorry for the mess” his exact words. What a let down

Food excellent, very well-cooked and presented, lacked fancy frills and irrelevancies. The service, especially by a young lady from Nepal, was beyond first class, charming, instantaneous, non-intrusive, and all accomanied by an enchanting happy smile. A blythe spirit, a member of a superb team. The room is beautiful, as the view would have been except it was dark outside.

A complete disappointment. The way that the staff was being disrespectful, dismissive and homophobic was surreal. You could notice a difference between mine and partner’s table and the other one with straight single women. The staff treated them much better. I guess there’s such a thing as preferential treatment. The staff barely spoke to us. Removed plates without even asking. And forgot to provide THEFORK discount. To simplify, not the best experience.

great place and atmosphere. everything is very well designed with beautiful details, from the porcelains to the interiors. Food taste was very good but my main course (Zambeian Chicken) was just bones. I told to the waiter and I didn't get any feedback. i was expecting someone to come to the table and apologize since it is not cheap. I was a bit disappointed to say the least . all the rest was great
