10/10They do a fabulous job with the Dover Sole fish. The ambience is elegant,… good wine choices… friendly staff. We have eaten here several times… It never disappoints!

8/10The service, food quality were very good. Unfortunately, it is too expensive for what it is.

9/10A little gem of a restaurant in the quiet and classy Paris VII. My wife and I shared a plentiful, delicious and fresh Tuna tartare on a bed of guacamole garnished with pomegranate seeds. They were out of Sole, so she opted for the John Dory, which she loved. I had the blanquette de veau, creamy without cream and very tasty. The noise level was high.

10/10We really enjoyed our dinner. Very small, typical Parisian restaurant. Make reservations. They were accommodating a large party that looked to be about 10 people and it was cozy but it worked. The ladies working hustled yet we were not rushed, as to be again expected. The sole was fantastic. Would love to eat there again when we go back.

10/10My wife, I, my daughter, and my grandaughter ate at Au Petit Tonneau in April 2022. We were so impressed by the food, the staff, and the ambience. The owner, Arlette Iga, made a point of talking to us and sharing her feelings about the importance of French cooking. Well, we were so impressed that last week on Feb. 22, 2024, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Au Petit Tonneau. Madame Iga had roses waiting on our table and had made a cookie with our names on it, wishing us a happy 50th anniversary. We love this restaurant, the owner, and the staff. We will go back every time we are in Paris.

10/10We have been going to this resaurant for a number of years when we come over for Retromobile (hence Le Tonneau to cover up a converible car!) This time inparticular it was the menu that was immaginative and one wanted everything on the list; also unusual things like pigs trotters (delicious) Our choices were simply delicious. We ended up by paying well over Euro 100 ahead which seemed a bit expensive and also the wine prices were astromonic making it a very expensive outing. What hoe we were in Paris!

8.5/10Very friendly service, speak decent English. Onion soup was good, great choice of wine by glass, but the chateaubriand steak worth nearly 50€ was hard to chew. Not worth it at all. Overall average food with good service and atmosphere walking distance from Eiffel Tower

10/10For New Years Eve couldn’t imagine a more special venue. Been dining here over 25 years and continues to be my favorite special place in Paris. Walked ten minutes after dinner to Tour Eiffel for the light show at midnight Even though the founder Janette was no longer alive the wonderful staff kept up her tradition Don’t miss this one

9.5/10We took our 3 & 7 yr old here for Christmas dinner and it was great! We ordered the snails, chateaubriand boeuf and veal dish and had a unique Christmas ice cream cake delicately flavored with pears and apples with a cookie crust. The staff told us they were happy to see kids eating at restaurants like this as they are the next generation of diners.

10/10If we had one night in Paris we would have dinner at Au Petit Tonneau. It’s an authentic French bistro with great French cuisine and ambiance. It’s our favorite bistro!

9.5/10wonderful bistro. A bit more money than most but definitely worth it. Chateaubriand and Dover sole among the best I have ever eaten. The only restaurant we returned to in our month long visit to Paris.

10/10I live in London but have a flat around the corner from Le Petit Tonneau, which I have now visited twice. Two of us had a truly sublime meal there early November. Classic French cooking, subtly and carefully prepared. The Blanquette de Veau - my favourite dish - almost a national dish, was the best I've eaten. Melting veal, very tasty sauce. Scallops were the same. You can't go wrong here. And such nice, charming, and funny people.

7/10Traditional French cuisine: think elevated comfort food, seasonal and tasty, in a quiet and comfortable space without any cliched bistro decor. Friendly and attentive service. The only and unpleasant surprise occurred a couple of hours later to those who had the tuna tartar starter. Hopefully an exception, but it warrants the deduction of a star. (Reminder to self: Don't eat raw fish on a Sunday night.)
