Food was delicious and very well presented, you can have a lá cart menu or hearty made food. The owner and the rest of the staff were very attentive. We say we'll be back again, specially to try, fish od the day.

We have been coming to Armacao De Pera for the last 4 years and just happened to be staying in the same apartment block as Bistro 1956. What a stroke of luck. Beautiful food beautiful presentation great service absolutely couldn’t fault anything. Well worth a visit for the quality of the food and excellent value for money.

We had Christmas dinner here (normal service but on Christmas Day) and it was exceptional. Wonderful meat and seafood, and the owner / manager (unsure) was so attentive and friendly and personally thanked us for coming. Drinks also amazing and great value. A hidden gem!

Exceptionally friendly hosts greeted us at the door and consistently made us feel welcome! we were celebrating a special occasion and they were absolutely wonderful. the food was wonderful and exquisitely presented. thanks for a very special evening!

This was a surprise hit. Extremely friendly service, excellent food! We didn't expect to find anything like this hidden away amidst the concrete canyons of Armação de Pêra. Despite being surrounded by several apartment towers, there's actually a line of sight out to the ocean, and the place did carve out quite a nice spot for itself.

This place is amazing. The owner or manager is excellent and makes sure everyone is taken care of and the food is excellent.

Perfectly cooked food and excellent service! The Bistro 1956 Sangria is so good that you shouldn’t miss!

All of the dishes we have had are excellent. Portuguese steak, Risotto with shrimp, Monkfish and shrimp skewers, octopus all prepared with great flavour and taste. outside sea view and indoor seating. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Once again the food and service were amazing we were made to feel like special guests Antonio was wonderful even joined us for a drink and brought us a round of shots Would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area you won't be disappointed. Five star service .
