5.5/10You can sense the owners’ passion for their farm and the animals they raise. And I believe the “gastronomic” label refers to the quality of the raw products. However in our view, the cuisine itself needs more refinement to be in this class. Many of the vegetable sides were near raw (eg eggplant, zucchini) or dry (artichokes) and while many of the starters were tasty, we could not balance this with the high price and small portions (croquettes, patatas bravas). The meat however took center stage and raised smiles of contentment. The desserts, while appreciated, needed more refinement once again to be in the gastronomic range. The room itself is scarcely decorated, and left us quite perplexed, was this really a high end restaurant ? There is a lot of passion and potential here in our view, hopefully the owner chefs can continue to develop their offering.

8.5/10OK....so this review is pretty detailed but it was just that kind of experience. My first time there and the food was excellent! First, if you happen to be ordering any wine by the glass they have great pours at reasonable prices. They also give you thick pieces of warm toasted bread along with fresh tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and sea salt. You cut the tomato and garlic in half and rub it on your bread. Then you top it off with some olve oil and the coarse salt if desired. A nice change. Then, we moved on to roasted pumpkiin pieces that was topped with some sort of yummy cheese and a green herb-like sauce. Loved it. I had the ox filet with port wine sauce, which only comes med-rare (however, I like mine medium) . But not to worry,...they bring over a hot griddle to your table where you can continue to cook it exactly how you want it. It is very clever and perfect if you are sharing meat dishes with others (tapas-style) and not everyone likes their meat cook the same way. The port wine sauce was one of the best I've ever had and the ox filet melted in my mouth. My mom had the honey cod which was delicious and my father has the suckling pig which was extremely moist with a perfect smoky flavor. My only complaint about the food is that the amount of pork after removing any bone or fat was very skimpy.compared to the many times I've eaten suckling pig. As for the reasons I did not give the restaurant a perfect score are as follows, While the staff was friendly and helpful when they could be, they were seriously short-handed. Long wait to be recognized when we first came in for our reservation until I finally started to approach a waiter. The chef (possibly owner, as well) noticed me and brought us to our table. He makes regular appearances in the dining room which is a plus. But, it was a full restaurant with lots of large tables and besides the chef I only ever saw 2 waiters and no host. The service suffered as a result even though they tried their best. Last, the table grills are fabulous but they need to install a better venting system in the ceiling to air out the smoke. It was a bit overwhelming at times. My hair and clothes smelled like I had been sitting next to a campfire.. I don't understand it because you would have a hood(vent) over your oven/stove-top range at home, so why wouldn't you have a few in the ceiling of the dining room? Overall, our dinner was delicious. We were too full for dessert but when I come back to Barcelona I will have to try one, as I would definitely visit again.
