The food
7.5
Go when you’re hungry, as the portion sizes are large. The staff are working very hard but can’t quite keep up with the demands of all the diners. Maybe it would be better to limit the number of tables and give them such great service they want to stay for a dessert, another drink, a coffee, rather than a queue of people building up to pay after just one course because it’s taken a long time already.

The menu can please everyone and the food was really good. The premises are tastefully decorated and the owners are absolutely lovely. Unfortunately that evening it was hot and we were next to two very loud tables celebrating a b'day without considering others.

We hadn't been to Selestat before and my partner had a problem with his foot which meant we didn't want to wander around. We found this place before we travelled but they didn't respond to our enquiry online, not sure why. So we booked it through the fork and when we turned up they had our booking. Lovely little restaurant with attentive waiting staff, the starter was great (best cheese and meat platter I think we have had for a long time) and the main was good but not the best. We had the faux fillet which was well cooked but a little tough in parts. I would go back though.

The food was really not good: prepared before and later heated, even microwaved. And despite this excruciating long waiting times. There was saving on service: one young waitress for the whole restaurant.

I am really content. A nice place to feel and to taste authentic of Alsac.
