I have been in this restaurant several times and even it is not on my way I love to take a detour to meet Madame Rosary. She runs the restaurant and hotel in a very good way. I always feel welcome and she takes much attention to make her guests happy. The menue offers a wide range of dishes and I enjoyed bruschettas with truffles and then a variety of beef tartare. The wine by the glass was excellent. I recommend highly. In the past years I could sit outside in the garden amidst the roses. This year all takes were led inside. Because of moscitos we were told. I am not sure, I think it might be a question of staff shortage. But this is only what I assume. The service was done by an elderly lady with a loud voice who doesn't seem very friendly, but at the end this is obviously her character. Service was good nevertheless. The young lady who did also service was very friendly and engaged. I shall go there again and see how it's going

Lovely atmosphere. Lots of religious icons/statures and paintings on the walls. We had a nice lunch. The menu is meat heavy - I would appreciated something lighter like some chicken ....or fish. However it was a good lunch. I wouldn't go back due to the over-the-top religious stuff, crucifixes, a big Jesus, and paintings of a nun. Too much for me. Food is good and atmosphere warm and cozy.

We had a lovely meal and the service was excellent as we caught up with friends. Hopefully we weren’t too loud and slow for this relaxed family atmosphere.

One of the nices places I have eaten, but they need more stuff for sure. We waited for eveything a little too much.. a host and than the waitress asked as which water do we want and than we had to ask for still water 2 more times because the waitress could catch it all. Bread that we got was really nice and you could feel that it is home made but it was dry. Tris di tartare blow my mind, vegetables were delicius, but tagliata di chianina was a little bit hard to chew. Cheese cake ai fruti di bosco also delicius. All in all there is room for improvement but I am definitely comming back for that tartar!

Beautiful castle setting, lovely small patio outside. Ample parking. Hotel rooms as well. Food was excellent, good selection of wines. Very enjoyable afternoon.

A wonderful place with a Masterchef. All dishes excellent, freshly prepared, and more than abundant. After ending up with the Fork google maps in front of the sanctuary I phoned and a few minutes I arrived at the right place. I explain here because the Fork is unable to change the wrong address : leave the church at your left, proceed to the traffic light (semaforo, gira destra) turn right and follow the street to the little Borgo. That is the building Torre San Giovanni. It is NOT the name of a village but of the building!!! Big parking. At the moment the menue offers fresh black summer truffle. I asked to mix two starters as I couldn't decide what to choose. My Primo was Tagliatelle with truffles (too big to finish and they packed it for me to take away), the main course was beef tartare again with fresh truffles. Could be shared for two people or you are a hungry man. The dessert I couldn't manage anymore ????. A wonderful bottle of white Montefalco wine (recommendated by the waiter to accompany well all my menue), also this bottle I took back to the hotel, otherwise I risk to loose my driving license. The garden ambiente is wonderful, small but enough distance. Lots of roses and other flowers. The service is very attentive, polite and friendly. The host, Mrs Rosary, is a very elegant and charming lady, it was a big pleasure to talk to her and to learn about the Sanctuary of Madre Speranza. Next time I shall book a room in the hotel, so I can drink more and eat at least twice there. A wonderful experience, thanks to The Fork, I wouldn't have found otherwise.

Truly a magical night. The food, wine, and service all were phenomenal. We ordered probably half of the menu (7 of us) and again, all phenomenal. Everything tasted great! While they were out of our choice of desert (chocolate cake), the marscapone creme was amazing! We sat on the patio, and it felt like a true authentic Italian dinner.

The food was well prepared but the overall experience was a little disappointing as the service was somewhat brusque (even allowing for the lack of English on the waiters part and the poor conversational Italian on our part).
