The food was beautiful presented and delicious, except ones that ordered my husband-beef steak with potatoes, which were untasted. I we didn’t like the desserts. Tried 4 of 6 available and they were nothing special, as we expected.

The restaurant environment is great. Very pretty interior. The hostess was terse and did not offer to take our coats. The waitress, from the moment we sat down, discouraged us from trying the chef menu and refused to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Although, the chef himself modified our starter to honor the restrictions; which ws greatly appreciated, however the waitress did not inform us and just presented us with the dish. We had asked for another bottle of water which we received 1hr later after a reminder. It was very difficult to flag her attention although she was very attentive to other diners. We ordered table service duck, she had recommended medium done. Yet, while she was attempting to hack the meat off the bone, she herself said it was too tough. It was very unappetizing to see the food handled in such a manner. Unfortunately the duck tasted equally heinous. Although they had the smoothest mashed potatoes around. Non Caucasian individuals should avoid this restaurant

+3It begins when you arrive. Epona is located in a 5 star hotel located in a historic building which adds to the allure. I would consider the restaurant to be quasi casual however, in no way does it diminish the ambiance. We requested a wine that was unique but not something people can simply order from the menu. We were presented with a crisp and refreshing cider. A perfect starter to our meal. We chose the gourmet tasting menu. It’s roughly $25 more than the normal tasting menu and I highly recommend. The Foie Gras is made in house and the best I’ve ever tasted. In regards to a Michelin star restaurant, although it’s not cheap, it’s affordable as Michelin star restaurants go. I recommend.

Typical hotel dining room large brightly lit serves for all meals. Not for intimate dining. Food average dishes had garnished only so some might want to order extra veg. We experienced efficient service.

We had a beautiful meal with a wine properly paired for our chosen courses. We had a wonderful experience, and we will be back to Epona during future visits to Lyon.

It is the holidays but the restaurant was virtually empty despite the great reviews we had received. However, for a lunchtime menu to have only one choice of starter and one main course is a little ungenerous. Consequently we went “à la carte” and I am afraid to say that the prices are exceptionally expensive. For example, over 30€ for gambas……all 3 of them and not that large! Sadly disappointed. But service was very good and very friendly.

We had a great, quiet table and the service was friendly. The meal was good, but not extraordinary delicious. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere and decor!

Beautiful setting but inattentive slow service resulted in three hour lunch on very hot day! Food was good

This restaurant has an extraordinary chef. Each course from the amuse bouche to the dessert was creative and amazing.

The food was very nice as is the space, but the service was poor. Particularly the wine service. Bottles were dropped off and we were left to serve ourselves. At the end of the meal, we were also left for 45 minutes without the bill.
