9/10Today for lunch my wife and I strolled to the Quadrilatero to enjoy a spot we’ve enjoyed on earlier visits: Kewinery. A very stylish spot with an excellent array of wines on their list and an excellent variety of good foods. I like the decor, with the touches of Art Deco figures on the walls. The proprietor is always pleasant and today’s servers were attentive and quick. My wine selection today was a very nice Nebbiolo, which I enjoyed with a Piemontese appetizer, a Giardiniera (a dish made with pickled vegetables) along with tuna. Quite nice though I thought the sumptuous sauce overpowered any taste of tuna. For the main course my wife ordered the Stinco di Maiale Sfilacciato (shredded pork shank). She definitely enjoyed it; I had a taste and thought both the meat and polenta were very nicely prepared. I ordered the very good meatballs in a delicious abundant tomato sauce (served piping-hot with two slices of toasted bread). A winner every time I try them. A very nice place to enjoy.

10/10A lovely lunch at Kewinery with my darling wife. Our server/host Michele was terrific throughout — and what tickled me was how he sang along (and occasionally danced) with the music they had playing, of singers like Dalla, Battisti and others artists that mremembered hearing in her teenage years. At this place with a terrific wine list we had a very nice Nebbiolo from Cascina Boschetti. My bride started off with Insalata Russa in the form of a thick disc. I had a plate of wonderful agnolotti filled with three meats and served in a roast sauce. Afterwards my wife had a plate of those agnolotti; I had veal meatballs that I was properly forewarned were piping hot. The terracotta bowl kept them very hot; it was a very tasty dish. For dessert cantucci with Vin Santo. It brought back memories to my wife of when she had worked in Firenze. The meal was great on its own, but the uplifting attitude of Michele made it even more fun. What a difference a light-hearted spirit can make.

6/10The place was quite noisy. There was a tasting session, so probably because of that our order took a while to arrive. Personnel was kind and professional, you could see them running around constantly. Food and wine was ok both in terms of quality and quantity, but neither justified the price

7.5/10Chic wine bar. Food tailored to accompany great wines. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The roast beef was excellent, the porchetta was thin slices of ham - not a proper pork roll and the Tagliere di cioccolato was inadequate - tiny pieces of chocolate not worth the price. The dolce del giorno (pistachio bar) was excellent on the other hand. A pleasant experience nonetheless.

7/10The restaurant provides a cozy, intimate setting for a wide assortment of wine and cocktails and a limited menu of well-chosen Piemontese fare.
