10/10The service from the owner and staff is truly exceptional. For those seeking authentic Indian cuisine, this is the destination that inspires. It's a place where you can see the love for Indian food reflected in the many locals who frequent it.

9.5/10The food is of a very high quality, possibly the best Indian cuisine I have tried in Madrid, with attentive , informative service. We asked for a quiet spot and they gave a good table at the back of the restaurant.

9.5/10Good “traditional” menu. Not too long and complicated! Food was excellent with plenty of spice and taste. Busy after 9.30 and they were taking lots of take away/ delivery orders too

6.5/10Always up for trying new places we chose Kundan due to the high number of positive reviews. Upon arrival we managed to park near the restaurant and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Seated efficiently, menus delivered and drinks order taken, all as it should be. Ambiance with pleasant and clean. However, with only one other occupied table in the restaurant (4 people) we were left for over 10 minutes pondering the menu. I called to the waiter who had seated us, as I had a question regarding the menu, and he answered with "just one moment sir". He then proceeded to attend to setting tables and walked back and forth past us several times in the process whilst ignoring the clients, namely us, who were actually in the restaurant. So, having waited for nearly 20 minutes since being seated, I called who appeared to be a more senior member of staff who attended us promptly. I pointed out the fact that I had asked the other waiter a question and he had left us sitting for 10 minutes without answering while he carried on setting tables in an otherwise empty restaurant. He apologised. He then answered my question which was about whether the chef could make a Pathia sauce. He'd never heard of it. No problem, I ordered something else. Popadums and sauces were delivered and I asked for some Lime Pickle. It wasn't a problem and was brought reasonably quickly. Popadums were fresh and tasty. Main dishes arrives, beautifully presented in copper long handles pots. The immediately noticeable thing was the unreasonably small portion size. There were 5 pieces of chicken Tikka in the Tikka Masalla (for two people). And a few more pieces of Lamb in the Rogan Josh. The Palak Paneer was well presented although it was evident that the cooking process had not been stopped after blanching the spinach and so it lost its green colour an had become a sludgy brown. Tasty enough though too salty. The Chicken Tikka was beautifully marinated and cooked to perfection. However the Masalla sauce was mostly cream and fairly tasteless. Too many calories for not enough flavour. Recipe could really do with a review. It certainly was not a Masalla sauce. Rogan Josh was tasty enough and at least some of the lamb was tender. Not Atul Kotcher nor Michelin star but reasonable taste, if not overpriced. In general I found many dishes to be heavily overpriced for the quality, quantity and value of the dish. There are many more reasonable Indian restaurants with comparable or better quality for way less. So, over all, a slightly disappointing venture to a new restaurant. Apart from the inexperienced member of staff who chose cutlery over customers, hopefully a lesson learned and never to be repeated, the staff were all friendly and warm and the food, though expensive for what it was and the area, was tasty enough but recipes could do with some research and a whole lot less cream. The ambience was pleasant and it is obviously popular as it filled up fairly quickly come 2pm. My real issue is that the recipes are not authentic (of the dishes we tried - though the Rogan Josh was closest of the three) and that the dishes were overpriced for the quantity served. Each to their own, I say, and people should go and make their own minds up but for me, I won't be going back.

10/10We have been to Kundan many times before as the food is excellent and authentic. This time too it was a lovely meal to celebrate Diwali. We had the chicken tikka biryani, chicken makhani, malai kofta and onion bhajia. All were very good. They will adjust the spice level to your liking.
