10/10L’escaleta clearly deserves the 2 stars. I liked how chef Kiko uses local products but goes well beyond the classical Valencian dishes. The chef’s menu ‘ sabor’ , while being the smallest of the two menus offered, will already take you 3 hours to enjoy. Each dish gave me a nice blend of sour, salt and spice - chef Kiko likes to use kimchi, wild mustard and preserved vegetables, fish and meat. The service was very hospitable, and concluded by an invitation by the chef to visit his spotless, well organised kitchen. As the adagio of Michelin says: two stars means worth a detour and I would say, don’t mind if that detour takes you well off your planned road.

9.5/10Difficult to find. Don't follow the indication by 'The Fork'. Just type the name of the restaurant on your SatNav. When you're there, you forget the time spent on the road. A warm welcome, delicious meals, excellent service. At the end, you get a chance to speak to the chef. Worth a second visite with the whole family. Prices are fair, which isn't always the case with a 2-star Michelin Restaurant. See you in summer.

10/10+7A leisurely and impressive 2.5 hours for the smallwr menu which is already around 10 courses. It is fully surprise and you need to be open for things you may not order normally like oister, blood sausage etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with outstanding service, ending with petit fours in the kitchen. Must try.

8/10Kind and proud staff. Speaking another language than Spanish seems hard, but they try and the love for their food and wine is so inspiring! The pride of their work is so contaminating! Some dishes were less my cup of tea, maybe the kitchen is a bit more harsh and less refined due to the region and the use of the typical products. Nevertheless, we received every attention needed, we met the chef (twice!) and we received a tour in the heart of the restaurant, the kitchen. It was a great experience for the both of us. PS: those wines and Champaign!!!!

10/10The creative and original dishes are all fantastic. The whole team - from the co-founding chef and sommelier, to Andres, and the entire team - are extremely talented knowledgeable, friendly, and provide the best experience. We go whenever we are in town or nearby, and we are thrilled to invite friends and family to join us in such a great culinary experience. I can’t recommend L’Escaleta more highly.

10/10Everything was stellar. The creative incredible food, the wine pairings (and the sommelier’s knowledge), and the ambiance.

5/10Very dissapointed. mixed feelings, professional service, we would give it a 4 but for the food only a 1. Insisted on showing us the kitchen, huge, ultra modern but no activity, more like a laboratory. For a 2 star michelin it fell well short in our opinion. We had the 7 plus 2 plates menu plu one extra course, No wine. For the two of us the bill was 265.00 Euros, for that price and rating we expect to be wowed. We will not be going back.

6/10No english menu in 21 century, very strange. Dishes are nothing special, its not a 2 star restaurant. Waiters don’t speak English, so it’s pretty difficult to understand the menu positions. But it has beautiful surrounding and polite staff.

10/10Second visit to this restaurant and even better. Refreshing to see a top chef offering both a tasting (degustion) and a regular a la carte menu. Fabulous in every respect!

9.5/10Stunningly good, outstanding, and lots of other superlatives! The only cautionary note I would add would be to give yourself plenty of time to find this restaurant. If you are following a GPS as we did you will discover there are two parts of the same street which are NOT connected. We chose the wrong one! Well worth it however, this was a fantastic 5 star dining experience.
