10/10A real gem! My partner and I discovered this restaurant purely by chance in 2018 during a visit to Paris. It was late, the restaurant was full, but the owners still welcomed us and set up a table. They do everything: from welcoming guests, to cooking, plating, and even offering wine pairings and recommendations. This little inconspicuous restaurant offered us an incredible meal that has become one of the core memories we often revisit in our conversations. Five years later, back in Paris, we visited La Vie d'Ange, out of pure nostalgia; this time accompanied by our newborn and two of our friends who live in Paris. The experience was just as magical. A heartwarming welcome, kind service, incredible dishes, and wine recommendations that were just as surprising as they were perfect. Don’t miss the scallops, the lamb shank, and the duck.

9.5/10I ate at La Vie on a Tuesday night after work. The food was excellent and the patron Thierry was very welcoming and friendly. I had the beef cheeks cooked with Pastis that was amazing. I was also recommended 2 different glasses of French wine that I wouldn’t otherwise pick and both were very nice and complemented the food I ate. I will be going back!

10/10This restaurant came recommended on a travel site and it was one of our favorite meals from the trip! The food was fantastic and the owner is such a sweetheart. If you’re going to the catacombs, this spot is a brief walk from there. Will definitely be coming back when I return to Paris!

10/10This was our 4th visit to this wonderful restaurant. We come every time we are in Paris. Thierry is the perfect welcoming host and as a sommelier we rely on his expertise to choose a wine pairing from his extensive wall of wine. Aida is an extraordinary chef, and diners can watch her produce flavorful dishes without fail. Do not miss this special treat.

10/10Lovely little place. Welcoming and helpful to non-French speakers. The food was delicious and well-presented. The wines suggestions were great, too. I had escargot, lamb shank and apple tart, all very tasty.

10/10This restaurant is my favorite in Paris. The food is the best and the attention by the husband and wife that run the place is outstanding. Can’t wait to sour next trip to Paris to go for dinner at the La Vie d’Ange!

10/10Thierry and his lovely wife, Aida, are incredible hosts. Their inviting personalities and enjoyable conversation add the to the relaxed and unassuming excellence of this small French bistro. I was first turned on to the restaurant due to business travel five years ago. Since then, I have made it a point to stop in to visit with my new friends on every occasion I can. The food is absolutely wonderful. I travel globally extensively and I can honestly say I have never had even a mediocre dish. Thierry also does a wonderful job to pair every dish with a wine. All very reasonably priced. Their clientele are a mix of foreign visitors, yet at the same time, they have many neighbourhood regulars filling the seats. A must try if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed!

9.5/10Great little unpretentious restaurant with friendly, helpful owner. French food with a West African influence (or the other way around). The food was delicious, the wine suggested was spot on. I've been in Paris for about nine months. This was one of my best experiences. Nothing flashy, just top quality food and wine. Really good.

10/10Warm friendly unassuming restaurant run by a French/Senegalese couple. Very nice small menu cooked with skill and love by the wife. Good wine selection and knowledge by the husband. Very enjoyable evening. We loved the Senegalese dishes and the escargot were also delicious.

10/10Lovely small restaurant. The owners are introducing some Senegalese dishes (one of the owners is Senegalese, the other French) but promise to keep their fantastic escargot on the menu. I tried a beef stew with peanut butter and it had just a little heat, making it very interesting & flavor.
