8/10the resteraunt itself was a busy, typically unpretentious French brasserrie. Our starters were excellent but the main meals were disappointing (perhaps our choices weren't the best). However our overall experience eating in a resteraunt in Monmatre was very good

5/10Made a reservation 24 hours in advance and when we showed up the waiter told us to go grab the tiny table in the corner. Waited 30 minutes to get water and our order taken at the table and were ignored when our food finally came out. Waiter served tables that had come in much later before us and was not friendly or apologetic at all. Food was good.

3/10The waiter was VERY VERY rude. When he approached our table after a very long wait, I PLEASANTLY greeted him, saying that we were ready to order, but he misunderstood me and immediately became defensive, saying that he had to attend to others. NOTE THAT I WASN'T COMPLAINING, I was just greeting him. He took our orders but never came back to us. We waited for our orders for a VERY LONG TIME. The customers around us, who came later, were even served first ... it was as if we were being ignored deliberately. We had to inquire from another waiter about our orders, and they finally came. Then no one came back to us so that we could request for our bill, so we just went up to the cash register, waited until another waiter approached, so that we could pay & leave. WE WASTED A LOT OF TIME IN THAT RESTAURANT! That waiter should not be employed at a busy restaurant if he gets harassed & becomes unpleasant!!!

10/10I took a good look at all of the restaurants in this plaza, and to my eyes, Le Progres was the authentic standout. The service and food did not disappoint. We were a group of 8 with lots of activity and the patient staff managed us beautifully. Food was fresh, high quality, and tasty tasty! We were there on a slow day. I would DO NOT unreasonably expect quick service if the place is full. Be realistic, kind, and you will be treated the same I am sure. (Speaking as someone who's traveled to Paris a lot, and has worked in food service.)

8/10The restaurant is in a cute spot near the sacré couer at the bottom of the hill. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food was great, however my meat was too rare for pregnancy. I did enjoy everything else so otherwise this likely wouldn’t have been an issue.

9.5/10I was recommended to Le Progrès by my son 8 years ago. Partly due to COVID, I had not returned to Paris during the last 7 years. So, after climbing the steps of Le Sacré Coeur, I had worked up quite an appetite. I can finally attest that this place has the best bacon cheeseburger in Paris! This doesn’t even factor in the friendly neighborhood ambience, the laid back vibe, or the other tasty offerings on its menu. Come for the wonderful view from the Sacré Coeur, but if you are searching for good value, this place serves a great burger and delicious French comfort food at reasonable prices. C’est formidable!

10/10My husband had such fond memories of taking our girls here on their first trip to Paris. This time they were old enough to order their own meal, and it even included wine (ugh, we are no longer so young.) so it was again memorable. The food it classic, the atmosphere is lively, the employees are kind and fun. Great experience!

8.5/10My second time visiting at this restaurant, the first time when I was here for work in May. The starters of Oysters were not shucked particularly well. Lots of grit and broken shell ruined the experience. Our mains were utterly delicious. But we have had better service whilst in Paris. The guys are super friendly but not attentive.
