Lovely setting in the main square. Food was excellent. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

It is a good four star place of its kind. I was tempted to give this place five stars just to pull it up the rankings as I feel there are some reviews which are unfair . Maybe some people had different expectations and were disappointed . It is not a classy restaurant , not a family run, cosy eating experience. Rather it is a bit old fashioned , quite basically furnished , though providing a perfectly adequate and jolly atmosphere on a Saturday night . It’s a bit like an English pub , though the food is superior to pub grub . Not a gastro- pub - football is showing on a screen in the corner and lots of people just come in for a drink. A real mix - mostly locals , some families , some Muslims, some lorry driver types , all chatting away animatedly . Service was brisk and very efficient . The servers did not have time for a long chat but listened carefully to our order. The food was old fashioned French menu eg steak and chips, bavette, chocolate mousse . All delicious and the chips were golden and crisp. The place is set on the main square - the only lively bit of town - and has outdoor seating , covered and with patio heater in winter. .
