10/10It was our last night in Italy and rather than spend it in Rome, we decided to stay in Ostia. We looked up this restaurant, saw that it offered typical local cuisine and made a reservation. I have to say, of all the amazing food we ate in Italy during our 2-week stay, Moose bistrot's food, wine, and service were right at the top of the list. We were surprised to stumble upon it, but really happy with our choice! We had oysters (not common in Italy, for some reason) that were plump, briny and delicious, fried alici (anchovies) that were perfectly lightly breaded and tasty, and each had a pasta dish that was out of this world - frutti di mare with chitarra and squid ink chitarra with shrimp. We had octopus for our secondi, cooked perfectly. We own a regional Italian restaurant in the US (Cafe Campli) so whenever we have a wonderful experience like we had here, we remember and cherish it. Grazie mille!

9.5/10Great choice of fresh seafood, nice location with outdoor tables, nice waiters. 2 nd time I came to Ostia and 2nd time at the this restaurant. And I'll be back for my future 3rd trip to Ostia :)

10/10I will come back. The owners... a family... were charming and the food was more than pleasant. I particularly loved the fish antipasti and found that I hardly had room for the first course. Next time I will have a secondo instead of a primo with the appetizer.

9/10We had a fantastic time - the welcome and personal touch from our waiter Camilo, along with the opportunity to speak to the chef, made the evening. I would recommend the sword fish and spaghetti vongole - all delicious and fantastically fresh. Well worth a visit.

3/10My goodness!!!! We booked a table for 4 adults and 5 kids by 8pm. The place appears quite dark with lights not well set. Anyway the dinner started well with a starters of 4 seafood dishes. Coming to the main couses the waiter told us to choose only among 4 dishes of the day. In fact for Saturday evening the menu was withdrawn...Among the four adults we choose 3 different dishes. At the third choice the waiter objected 3 différents were too many. I insisted he literally said to me (nun ve fate più vede qua!) which means do not come here anymore in Roman slang not even in Italian. UNBELIEVABLE.. Place suggested for hooligans looking for moved nights but not for families with kids....

10/10Absolutely perfect!! Ambience as well as food and service are indescribably good. This was my second visit to Moose Bistrot and once again I was totally thrilled. In the restaurant you feel immediately at ease. The service is friendly, informal and professional at the same time. You feel very well looked after and welcomed. The food was really perfect - you have to try it. In my opinion the very best restaurant to eat seafood. The next time I am near Ostia, I will definitely come back.
