The waiters and the manager were absolutely fantastic. The restaurant isn't too big and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was heavenly especially with a cold glass of white wine!

The quality of the fish was good, but it was missing salt, pepper and... The quantity was poor. The grilled vegetables have been ridiculos. Only thin peaces of zuchini ~ 50 grams! I am a fisherman for decades but this was totaly overrated. Later we found a very good fish restaurant with true 5 stars and there we had more than 2 dinners.

It was our last night in Italy and rather than spend it in Rome, we decided to stay in Ostia. We looked up this restaurant, saw that it offered typical local cuisine and made a reservation. I have to say, of all the amazing food we ate in Italy during our 2-week stay, Moose bistrot's food, wine, and service were right at the top of the list. We were surprised to stumble upon it, but really happy with our choice! We had oysters (not common in Italy, for some reason) that were plump, briny and delicious, fried alici (anchovies) that were perfectly lightly breaded and tasty, and each had a pasta dish that was out of this world - frutti di mare with chitarra and squid ink chitarra with shrimp. We had octopus for our secondi, cooked perfectly. We own a regional Italian restaurant in the US (Cafe Campli) so whenever we have a wonderful experience like we had here, we remember and cherish it. Grazie mille!

Great choice of fresh seafood, nice location with outdoor tables, nice waiters. 2 nd time I came to Ostia and 2nd time at the this restaurant. And I'll be back for my future 3rd trip to Ostia :)
