Excellent food served in a vibrant and pleasant restaurant. Service was attentive and the specials of the day were amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal as a family of three on the August public holiday. Great location and plenty of parking available.

We visited the restaurant for lunch and had the daily specials. These were well preparwd with lots of flavour. Service was attentive, but hot inteusive and the ambience was nice.

We chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews we read, and it did not disappoint. The warm welcome we received set a wonderful tone for the evening. The staff, including both servers and chefs, were incredibly attentive, especially towards our children, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our family. The food was absolutely fantastic! Overall, our experience was memorable, and we will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended for families looking for a great dining experience!

Very nice ambience with nice wait staff. The food came on time and was fresh. However it was somewhat plain. I had rice and asparagus as part of my dish and the asparagus was a few teeny tiny pieces mixed into very plain risotto rice. This is a more traditional Portuguese restaurant and they tend to use very little seasoning or sauce.

Ines was our server for our anniversary dinner. It was our first time in Portugal so we relied on his suggestions. He explained what the best items were on the menu and gave us the final choice. We had the duck with pomegranate sauce (delicious!), and Beef Wellington (we had just toured the museum and one of the Wellington forts, so it seemed appropriate). Everything was fabulous. We had the goat cheese salad split between us for a starter and it was perfect. Paired with a glass of champagne, it was a hit. We ended with the bean cake (now we see how it is award winning), with lime sorbet. Finished the meal with a healthy pour of Port. Total was just over $70 Euros. We highly recommend "the Root" for a nice dinner. Before 7 P.M., the bar is open for beer, wine and a snack.

Friendly staff, great ambience, but too pricy for the food they serve. We had one of the vegan meals and the chef's suggestions and were unimpressed by both. Nice wine list.

Nice and stylish restaurant situated in a park with easy parking just next to it. Very friendly staff that is proud of their tasty dishes. Tatar was even prepared at the table and their award winning desert is definitely worth the recommendation

Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food and a great choice of tasty wines. The only things that we didn’t expect is to have chili in a steak tartar (I think it’s important to mention that in the the menu as it’s an unusual ingredient and some people are allergic to it), which I was really looking forward to. At the end, we swapped our meals with each other and had a very lovely dinner experience. Thank you!
