10/10At first, no mussel was on the menu. But they provided us two buckets of mussels! Very delicious. I had a dish of eel. It was also very delicious.

6/10I’ve been to this restaurant several times over the last few years. Loved it every time, but on this visit the food wasn’t up to the usual standard for myself and my friend

7.5/10First time here, VERY friendly staff. The place was crowded so it was hectic but after all the food was good and we had a great evening.

8.5/10Great service, food is good, generous plates that explains the quite high prices

8/10Quality food in a clasic chique intrior. Still a bit 'dusty', a bit of fraicheur and spice could make this a true dinner experience

10/10It’s a beautiful building with great food and really friendly staff. I’d totally recommend a visit. It’s not cheap … but it’s value for money.

5/10Lovely restaurant but struck out with the dinner choice. Lamb was completely inedible. Could not cut nor chew it. Tough as leather. Mentioned it to the waiter. Was offered a complementary coffee. Seriously??

7/10They claimed we had no reservation (we had!) and the head waitress eventually and in an indignant manner tried to offer us a table right next to the entrance (our booking was or a window-table). No apologies made. Finally we were installed at a table in a side-room.

8/10The mussels in white wine were generous and tasty. Lots of celery and onions - but very nice wine sauce. The fries and sauces good. Thewine and service first rate. The lonsyer would not be on the order next time, bit mussels, salads and oysters are worth eating here. Great location.

7/10Since 1992, the menu reads. That’s almost 30 years in one of Leuven’s most competitive restaurant streets and the place was nearly full in a week night. How they do it? A limited and classic selection of mostly Belgian specialities. So we had large, firm meat balls in a bit of tomato sauce, a stew of pork cheeks with a brown beer sauce, as variation on the classic beer beef stew, and a special of the day, “zeewolf” (Atlantic wolffish or woof) with carpet shell clams for me. The latter was the best choice, though it’s hard to name a dish after just 2 shells on my plate (the grey shrimp somewhat made up for it). My dinner mates expected a bit more excitement for the price of their simple dishes. Excellent Troubadour Blond beer, though quite pricey ...
