9.5/10Inventive and seasonal offerings (like porcini and chestnut strudel, pumpkin ravioli in a sage brown butter sauce). Reasonably priced. Great wine selection with very drinkable house red and white, great service! Go!

10/10My sister and i tried Velando. It was on a picturesque alley and quiet. It might have been the fact that we ate so early, but we practically had the place to ourselves! Our waitress was attentive but intuitive. Honestly, it was a wonderful evening and the food was delicious. Their risotto was top notch.

7.5/10Ristorante Velando was a bit disappointing, though the staff was really very friendly and helpful. We started with the meatballs with ginger mayonnaise and the salmon tartare. The meatballs were more like croquettes (breaded & fried) than what I would consider a meatball (a ball of meat!). The mayo with ginger did not enhance the flavor and only provided more heaviness to the individual 'meatballs'. The salmon tartare was the favored dish. It was fresh and had a nice citrus balance. I ordered the prawns [shrimp] with vegetables and ginger. There were no vegetables anywhere. The prawns were nicely cooked and sat on a what appeared to be a puree of ginger puree. Maybe the vegetables were pureed into the ginger paste. I'm not sure. There was a descent number of prawns but although they were cooked nicely, the ginger puree, if taken with a bite of the prawns, had a strange texture - a bit crunchy with a definite aroma of ginger in a gooey base! I did not hate the dish but also did not love it either. Others at my table ordered the Ossobuco, a Lombardi specialty. It was served on risotto. I'm told it was ok but nothing spectacular. The other two at my table ordered the COD, which came in a deep dish. One liked it, the other said it was ok. I ordered sambuca instead of dessert. There were NO coffee beans in the sambuca. It is traditionally served with 3 coffee beans for 'good luck'. No luck that night! The service was great. The food was sadly very average. With two bottles of wine in addition to the above items the bill was about 275 Euro with gratuity. Because of the food quality I will unfortunately be rating this restaurant with 3 stars.

9.5/10Excellent food from Lombardia in a charming Roman neighborhood. If you are tired of amatriciana and carbonara, this quietly elegant restaurant will do just the trick. Everything was delicious: the ravioli filled with sausage or pumpkin, the brasato with polenta, the zabaione and the orange bavarois. Highly recommended.

4.5/10Very nice service and the food was okay, but very average food for very high prices. The red wine was a bit to hot, the food was very “Brown” (meaning very boring-looking food, which tastes okay but isn’t nice for the eye), and the restaurant and the interior was very 80s-like.

10/10Best food we have had in Rome after being here 5 days. Everything was delicious but our favorite and a must have on return was the pumpkin ravioli! The service was great too! The place is small, cozy, well decorated and full of locals.

6/10Not as good as expected. The food tasted very blizzard and the rice was raw in the middle. The tiramisu was the most disappointing I have ever had.
