5/10Al Bagatto is, I imagine, fairly traditional Italian. It is intimate (16-20 covers) … the menu is simple with limited choice and surprisingly little choice of real seafood. A mix up, probably of our doing, meant our second course was cold and required reheating. Accompanying bread was a little lacklustre.

4/10We went to Al Bagatto based on the Michelin recommendation which must be outdated and inaccurate. As soon as we entered the restaurant there was a fishy smell like in a fish market. The food was very mediocre, nothing special at all, and my husband’s pasta had very smelly shrimp - maybe not fresh or not adequately prepared. The tiramisu tasted like a cup of hard whipped cream. Also there was no prosecco or sparkling wine by the glass, which seems quite absurd in an Italian restaurant. The service was nice but not too knowledgeable. At the end of our meal the card terminal did not work and we had to wait for 15 minutes, we were not offered a glass of water or anything during our wait. Overall very disappointing and the Michelin recommendation needs to be reconsidered (taken away).

2/10The whole experience was strange. We were put into a small seperate room and waited more than an hour for our starters to arrive. The rest of the food also came at a very slow pace and drinks orders were forgotten. All in all we didn’t feel very welcome. The food was okay, once it had arrived but not michelin worthy.

6.5/10The food was excellent and up to our expectations. The ambiance is nice, just a few table well prepared in a small, cozy room. However, the client orientation and service has high potential for improvement. We missed a warm welcome and caring. The service was done by a junior server who was nice but not experienced at all. Actually we felt sorry that she didn‘t get any guidance, support and training and was left alone. The main server wasn‘t really present, she was either smoking or behind the counter, placed our dishes without any word, no communication or even asking whether we liked the food. At the end, they celebrated a birthday in the kitchen and left us alone in the room, waiting for our bill. It‘s all about people and attitude!

4/10We were very disappointed with the food. With a fish logo we had expected a lot more fish on the menu. The risotto (for 2 people) was served on a flat plate divided into two different taste servings, not what we expected from the menu listing. It was not good. While the apricot tiramisu was good the fresh fruit and vegetable dessert was very, very poor. Tiny bits of fruits and vegetable in a watery sauce. The Historical Menu was not available on the evening we visited. Very disappointing.

7/10Service staff was very helpful and cheerful. The meal was disappointing. The white asparagus was stringy, the risotto was cooked well, but sauces were nothing special, the zucchini spaghetti average. Perhaps the chef was not present.

6/10Starter from the kitchen a bit simple. Antipasti were very good,( excellent temura schimps with wasabi). Primi also, Secundi did not meet expectations at both guests. Price of wine too high compared to quality.

9.5/10Our hotel recommended this, which means something since they have two Michelin stars in their own place. Service was gracious and the sommelier went out of his way to pair local wines with all our courses. A highlight of of our trip!!
