+7We were lucky enough to get a table at Trattoria ai Fiori in Trieste – completely by chance, and as the only German couple among many regulars and friends of the family. From the very first moment, we didn’t feel like strangers, but like truly welcome guests in a very special circle. The 4-course menu was perfectly balanced: every dish full of flavor, prepared with obvious passion by the wonderful kitchen crew. The accompanying wines were presented to us directly by the winemaker – authentic, charming, and a real highlight. The outdoor seating, the warm and relaxed atmosphere, and the combination of food, wine, and hospitality made the evening unforgettable for us. Conclusion: A fantastic place we wholeheartedly recommend – for us, one of the most memorable evenings in Trieste.

10/10We had an exceptional experience. The service was impeccable - attentive, warm, and thoroughly professional from start to finish. The food was nothing short of outstanding; the pasta, in particular, was quite possibly the best we have ever had. Everything else lived up to the standards one would expect of a two-fork Falstaff rating. The only shortfall, however, was the dessert selection. While the main courses were sublime, the pâtisserie felt somewhat underwhelming in comparison, suggesting the absence of a dedicated pâtissier. Nonetheless, the overall quality and experience were excellent and certainly worth a visit for any discerning diner.

6/10Didn't live up to the expectations. Some courses were a hit, others a miss. It's a pity. Good service, but not very cosy (old fashioned design). The white house wine (not on the wine list) was cheap, but not very good.

9.5/10We took the tasting menu, it was delicious and probably one of the best value for money tasting menus we’ve ever eaten. Excellent service as well. The fish was very fresh and it was a very pleasant meal.

10/10Ai Fiori is a charming little restaurant in a very pleasant neighborhood. The hostess and owner of the restaurant makes very good recommendations which I was wise enough to follow both for food (fish) and choice of wine, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. In fact, the experience on the first evening was so convincing that I have returned the next evening and this time taking advantage of the offer to pre-order fish for the next day, which the owner bought on the fish-market the next morning for me. I will definitely return to Ai Fiori next time that I come to Trieste.
