9.5/10Our waiter was phenomenal; he spoke English, made recommendations of local fare, and described dishes unfamiliar to us. The food was excellent overall ( the bruschetta was a tad underwhelming but the chicory was wonderful). Both of our pastas were hot, homemade, and full of flavor. My class of Chianti hit the spot as did the lovely chocolate cheesecake (Americans-not your expected thick cheesecake but more of a whipped light white cheese with chocolate on top). Would absolutely dine here again.

10/10Spectacular experience… The food was wonderful, fresh Roman ingredients, perfect for the season… And the service was excellent! Everyone was kind and funny and professional… We especially liked Luigi! What a great guy!

The place is just marvelous, it’s a beautiful Roman osteria where they serve excellent dishes at more than reasonable prices, we were served by Emiliano who made our dinner memorable, he speaks Italian, English and even Spanish. At the end of our meal he gave us some digestives and some delicious ciambellini. 100% would come back!

8/10Party of 4 , we have eaten here before when under different ownership and were not disappointed with the change. The food was very good and a mix up with one dish was quickly resolved with good humour The wine was excellent, service relaxed and we will return next year

10/10Our family visited Antico Carbone last night for dinner. We were able to make a reservation online. This is a lovely family owned restaurant. The manager stopped by our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Outside seating was full so we sat inside. The restaurant has air conditioning which was welcome after walking thru Rome all day. The meatball appetizer, Pasta Bolognese and Carbonara were Excellent! After enjoying a relaxing meal we were given complementary pistachio aperitifs and almond cookies. The cookies were so delicious we asked for, and received more. Highly recommend stopping by Antico Carbone when you are in the Trastevere area!

9.5/10Luigi, the maitre d', is an engaging and interesting fellow. The ambiance was that of a locals gathering spot; homey, unpretentious. But the food was top notch.
