9.5/10This was a tiny restaurant in a back lane in Lisbon that certainly punched well above its size. The food was great and reasonably priced. The wine was chosen well to go with the food and sold by the glass so you could finish the meal off in style with a glass of port. The star of the meal for me was the drunken pear which really was excellent.

9.5/10I was more than impressed by the restaurant. The service was super super friendly and the food tasted amazing. I can highly recommend the Açorda de Camarão and the Bacalhau à Boca.

5.5/10We have chosen this restaurant because of its high number of high scores. However, we didn't understand the high score at all and were very dissapointed about the food. While quantities of either course really remindef of a Michelin star restaurant, quality of food and cooking was poor. For us it was a typical one-off-tourist-restaurant with inadequate price tags.

10/10This was the very first restaurant for dinner after arriving in Portugal, and it was so good, that it was the only one we went to twice. My husband and I ordered exactly the same things, both times. He got the octopus rice and I got the fish stew. Note to fellow soup/stew lovers - this "stew" is not an America, thick and chunky sort of cream-based stew at all. Instead, it's a tomato broth fish soup with vegetables and a nice portion of whatever was the catch of the day. And that was more than fine with me, because the flavors of all the elements melded together beautifully. My husband loved his octopus rice - a healthy portion of grilled octopus on top of well-made, brothy sort of soup. The atmosphere is fantastic (great blues music!) and the staff were top-notch. Ricardo is a gem. For tourists - keep in mind that this is a small place with a small staff. It might take a long time to get your orders in and then get your meals. Just be prepared for that possibility and you won't get frustrated. Also note that the portions are smaller than the typical American restaurant portions (but so are the prices).

10/10My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. We selected this place based on the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed- the reviews are absolutely well merited. All dishes we ordered were delicious - the croquettes, octopus salad and the octopus rice. Service was excellent - both Ricardo and Renata are very welcoming and sincerely warm hosts. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality. Atmosphere was very warm, relaxing and intimate. Very varied and well priced wine list - Renata is passionate about his wines. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return shortly.

10/10The reviews we read before we booked say it all. We really enjoyed our meal. The food quality and prices are excellent. The staff are friendly knowledge and helpful. If we are back in the city again we will definitely return to Boca D'Uva.

9/10Although finding good, affordable food in Lisbon may be easy, it feels impossible to find exceptional food that is on par with the customer service delivered. This place exemplifies the perfect hole in the wall. In terms of the attentiveness of the staff, it was faultless. Our water glasses were always full, and the staff popped by at the perfect frequency to see if we needed anything and ask how we were enjoying the meal. They hadn't yet stored the white wine we ordered in their fridge, and instead of just serving it as is, they didn't serve it until it was perfectly chilled, a detail we appreciated. When it came to the food, it was mind-blowing. We had the croquettes and camarão to start, which were both five stars. I wanted to lick the plates. For our mains, we had the barriga de porco and the bacalhau, and they were both fabulous, with the pork belly just edging it because of the tasty cabbage salad, giving it an extra something special. The only downside was the ambience, which boiled down to how small and slightly uncomfortable our table and chairs were. It is forgivable, considering how incredible the meal and wine were. I would eat this food sitting on the floor of a cave. We will return as often as time and money allows!
