6.5/10Overpriced, average food. 46 Euro for 6 oysters? Mind-boggling. They brought us bread without us asking for it or letting us know it’s not free. We don’t mind 6 extra Euros but any charges should always be disclosed upfront. Our Linguini with shrimp had 2 shrimps in it. It was the main course. We left after that.

8/10Let’s get this out of the way: the seafood offered here is of exceptional quality and prepared in a skillful and tasty way. That said, the atmosphere is a tad anonymous, all painted in a shiny white and with a resemblance to a dance hall of a noble palace of the 19th century. The service, despite the number of people working there in and out of the kitchen, is not great and can be improved. Prices are high, you can easily spend 100€ per person, reflecting the food and the positioning of this restaurant. This is not an everyday place and not where you ask for fried calamari and shrimps.

10/10Intimate, comfortable, elegant vibe. Stefano Chinappi greeted the three of us as soon as we were seated and we made the good choice to allow him to choose our menu for the evening (menu a sorpresa). The mackerel tartare, salmon sashimi with baby strawberries, roasted octopus, mussels on the half shell, red snapper in a light tomato sauce and tiramisu were the most creative, delicious and memorable of our dishes. Expect to pay for the imaginative menu, quality of the food and the overall dining experience. Our dinner was just under 400 Euros without wine and before tip. Well worth the price for a unique dinner in the eternal city.

10/10Absolutely incredible, tasty, fresh, suprinsing... It was an outstanding experience. The chef came to talk with us since the first moment we arrived. It is not cheap but it worths the price. A must go!

ELEGANZA CONTEMPORANEA - Stefano Chinappi, non è certo un novellino della ristorazione. Dopo aver maturato esperienza e solidità sulla costa laziale Stefano dal 2006 ha aperto con successo un elegante locale a pochi passi da piazza Fiume con un look contemporaneo tra pareti bianche e grigio chiaro, tavoli con tovaglie candide in lino, un grande lampadario rosso di Murano che svetta al centro della sala.
LA CUCINA - Le parole d'ordine? Freschezza, genuinità e prodotti stagionali con arrivi giornalieri secondo la disponibilità del pescato (aragosta, scampi, gamberoni, crudi ed il rinomato polpo). Cucina strettamente marinara con i profumi del mare che arrivano in tavola. Il prodotto ittico che viene offerto qui proviene in particolare dal basso Mar Tirreno e soprattutto Formia perché è lì che sono le radici della famiglia Chinappi.
DA PROVARE - Tra la vasta scelta di piatti, sono da assaggiare, tra i primi, lo spaghettone aglio, olio, calamaretti, peperoncino e pangrattato. Tra i secondi, il carpaccio di ricciola con pomodorino e basilico e, per concludere, la creme brulée ai lamponi.
Da Chinappi la pasta si serve alla fine prima del dessert e i ‘formati' sono del suo amico Gaetano Verrigni
