6/10My wife and I had a horrible experience at Don Giovanni and it was all due to one person: our waiter. He immediately took a dislike of me and, thus, would only speak to my wife. He turned his back to me. When my wife said she would like to order a glass of wine, he handed her a wine list. She made her selection and he turned and started to walk away. When I said I would like a glass, as well, he looked at me and without saying anything, pointed to my wife. We asked for a new waiter. I’m not sure what I did wrong but I must have, in someway, offended his sensibilities. They served our meals (mine was not what I ordered but at that point I let it pass) and the food was good as was the new waiter. But the earlier experience, I’m afraid, soured us on the restaurant forever.

+2Again I was only in Madrid for seven nights and I was blessed to have eaten twice at the restaurant Don Giovanne this week . We had dinner there Wednesday night and lunch their yesterday before my niece’s wedding. The food, drinks, service were fantastic as always. 10/10I live in Chicago which has a lot of outstanding restaurants but my favorite is Don Giovanni in Madrid, Spain. The food is outstanding, affordable, with great service in a very friendly atmosphere. My congratulations to Andrea Tumbarello. When I come to Madrid I usually only stay one week ; I do my very best to visit this restaurant as much as I can during that week. Respectfully, Tony Palos, Chicago, IL. July, 26, 2025. P.S. 10/10This is an old world italian place. Decades of serving clients, even celebrity clients from the number of cherished items on the walls and shelfs. Food was good quality and well prepared. Service was timeless.

6/10To start off, the food was amazing! The service not so much. I found this restaurant online and brought my family. Since we are from the states, there was a little language barrier but otherwise the conversations were pleasant & we tried our best! as the night went on, we were getting ignored. I am a study abroad student so I have been here awhile and I like to observe the differences I see. This was a more local restaurant and I could tell we were the only Americans. They were extremely attentive to everyone but us. We were ignored 90% of the time while the rest of the people were getting top notch service. We were very respectful but it really was upsetting seeing everyone else get their food very quickly and getting their plates cleaned up, etc. They would even look at our table and just walk away. I understand that we aren’t local but it really sucked being treated not as well as everyone else. If you aren’t local maybe don’t go there. Our service was extremely unfair & made me sad
