10/10Very nice and cozy restaurant in a beautiful and lively district of Naples. The food was excellent. Scaloppine was one of the best pork dishes i ever tasted. Also fried octopus was great and the deserts were seriously good. Overall, very good dining experience.

3.5/10L’Ostricaio was recommended to us by our AirBnB host as a great place for seafood so we booked on our last night in Naples. Unfortunately, not only was it the worst dining experience in Italy, it would have been disappointing anywhere. We were seated in a side room, where every table was filled, including one large, very loud group, despite there being lots of empty tables in the main section of the restaurant. Drinks and appetizers were OK, but our Primi were both tasteless. My spaghetti with clams was served lukewarm and lacked any flavor whatsoever. My wife ordered “Scallop with french fries” from the online menu, believing she was ordering seafood scallops (a la Coquille St Jacques) but she was served a chicken scalloppini that was also lukewarm and covered in a tasteless gravy. The french fries weren’t edible either as they weren’t cooked. When we pointed out to our waiter the confusion about the order, he was sympathetic and could see why we were confused, but when he tried to defend us to another server, the second was totally dismissive. The plate was cleared without a bite taken, without an apology and without a credit or other attempt to rectify. Very disappointing experience on what we had hoped would be a special night out.

8.5/10Friendly stuff, very polite. Food was delicious. We were 2, and shared a starter (octopus salad), then the spaghetti with clams and the fried fish, last was toramisu. Especially the spaghetti with clams was excellent

8/10The restaurant and the food are top notch, but my main course was different from what I ordered and it came without explanation, both when serving and after I questioned it… poor customer service. I can understand you are running out of a certain ingredient but the least you should do is inform your customer upfront and ask if the alternative is acceptable to him/her.

10/10We are tourists in Naples and stumbled upon this restaurant. Our first experience was so good that we went back again a couple of days later. Great food. Staff very helpful as we do not speak Italian. Lovely environment. I suggest making a booking if you are planning on eating after 8pm.
