We were warmly welcomed and happy we had a reservation because many people were turned away without reservations. Our server was helpful in explaining things in English for us. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the calves liver with a delectable sauce, two in our party had the fish of the day, and the 4th person had the pork. Who knew sweet potatoes could be so delicious! Our waiter recommended a nice bottle of wine for us, and it was altogether a lovely dining experience.

a small, cosy restaurant with a personal touch. The food was good and we enjoyed the evening. We particularly recommend the Baba o Rum dessert

We love to go the highly rated small restaurants. This cute bistro did not disappoint. La cuisine Des compains in Avignon. I ordered the chef special sea bream- my husband had the chef inspired steak . Both wonderfully seasoned. Our starters excellent too- this restaurant has a few offerings so please look at the menu. We were delighted- I am not usually a fan of sweet potatoes ( my side) but the chef made me a convert- way to go. Our waiter was down to earth- didn’t mind a little humor and we gave him some Leeway to offer suggestions for wine and digestives- they were spot on!

Food was delicious overall. We had sea bass, steak, and duck parmentier with house red and all were amazing. Only hiccup was dessert, baba rhum. which was uninteresting. Would definitely go again. Service was also excellent.

Could not fault the food or the service or the setting. The owner works there and is super friendly and helpful and speaks English if you don’t speak French. The food we had was outstanding and we enjoyed 3 amazing courses. Great wine and beer and spirits selection. Sitting outside on a lovely warm evening was just the best place to be in Avignon

Oh how we loved this restaurant! About 4 min walk from Papal Palace. It is so small and intimate...and the food and service is WONDERFUL! Make sure and get a reservation! They fill up! Most people were French and not tourists! LOVED LOVED this restaurant!

Stand-out meal of our trip to Provence. A small, quaint and cosy ambience, truly excellent food (and big quantities!) plus great value for money

Benoît and his staff are welcoming and accommodating. Three visits proves that this establishment is worthy of a visit. The place is cozy and unpretentious and the food is prepared with care. We will return next year!

We enjoyed this quaint place near the Pope's Palace. Saw the other great reviews and it did not disappoint. We both had the fish (cod) and it was cooked to perfection. The desserts were delicious and creative. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food and service in a charming setting. It gave us an excellent first impression of Avignon on our first night there. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful meal last night at Des Copains. An intimate cafe in old town Avignon with a nice terrace space, limited menu and wine list. The food , service and ambiance were all fantastic. The wine list is short, all French yet enough selections to make it interesting. Both French and English are spoken here, perhaps another language as well. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed the entire meal.

Nice location, very large servings, honest and good bistro food. Don’t know if the service was inhibited by corona circumstances or if it’s common to only open the wine bottle and not pour a glass.. menus available in French and English. Waiters speak good English, too.

Lovely restaurant on a lovely square in a lovely city. The owner is cool; dishes are fresh and home-made. Prices are reasonable (25 Euros first and main dishes together)
