Food is very much part of our travels. We stayed in Avignon for 3 nights. Having searched for one of the ‘insider’ restaurants’ we chose here. The food was delicious. What I liked most for us as a couple is that we could have the choice of a modern twist or traditional French food. All cooked to a high standard. The waiting staff were lovely and welcoming without being bothersome. Helpful and not intrusive, The wine was great. The craft beer was great. My husband had the hotdog which was a large portion and quite rich, very flavoursome. I had beef which was delicious. You have to hand it to the French - they know how to cook & use quality ingredients. I highly recommend eating here and we will definitely return if we come to Avignon again. I only wish we had somewhere like this in Scotland to be our ‘local’ restaurant.

The food was outstanding. The space was cozy and we especially loved the quenelle. Our group was split on the steak-some felt it was a bit tough and others k

What a cosy place with a great atmosphere. My waiter was charming and attentive. The food was out of this world. I had bone marrow and frogs’ legs and a great red wine. Marvellous!! Merci.

+4A must-visit for anyone craving delicious local cuisine! My group of six got to try a huge variety of dishes, and we were blown away. The foie gras was a favorite at the table- and delicious. Just a heads-up: the octopus stew might not be for everyone, as I found it a little too sour. The portions are super generous, so be sure to bring your appetite. We also loved the local red wine; it was the perfect fruity, full-bodied complement to our meal. A solid 10/10 dining experience!

Best food by far on our trip! Be sure to try the pulled pork, burger and chicken (special of the day). Amazing service and ambiance as well!!!

Fantastic food and service. Great regional wines and food. Maybe the best meal we’ve had in France. Duck confit burger topped with foie Gras, homemade fries and salad and the floating island meringue was the best. Was fully booked so make a reservation. Service from friend of son of papa was very helpful and appreciated.

It is a fairly small space so it had an intimate feel. The food was excellent and it was typical bistro like.

The food and welcoming service was amazing. They were accomodating as we were going to see a performance at the Opera house. The food was top notch and reasonably priced which is hard to find in Avignon.

La Cuisine de Papa is a friendly, low-key small restaurant serving cuisine traditionelle. Every dish my partner & I had was well-prepared & nicely presented. I am more adventurous than him. I had the marrowbones as an entree, followed by the veal kidneys nicely cooked in a strong Dijon sauce and served with mache salad in a good vinaigrette & fries. He had beef sautéed with onion & served with the some accompaniments (mache salad & frites). He had room for a lovely dessert of poached pear covered in chocolate sauce. Service was warm & efficient. The atmosphere is informal , comfortable & welcoming.

We went to the restaurant because it had very good reviews. The truth is that the menu offers very good dishes and there is generally a lot of variety. Unfortunately, the two dishes we ordered didn't completely convince us. La Salade de Papá, although the portion was large, had ingredients that were too big to fit in our mouths. The vinaigrette was concentrated at the bottom, and the top part was very dry. The chicken was very tough and cold. The avocado was green and lacked ripeness. As for the burger, although it could be described as juicy, it was excessively so. That made the bun soggy, and in the end, what we were eating was a watery burger.

Lovely little local bistro with the best house cheeseburgers we’ve had in years. Good for the kids too. Will be back the next time we return to Avignon.

This was our second visit to la Cuisine de Papa and even better than the first. It is a perfect example of fine French cooking in an intimate and stylish environment, and was a terrific finale to our holiday. Thank you to all!
