Service and location were excellent. Food was creative and intriguing in concept, but disappointing in execution. Most flavour combinations were unsuccessful: the catch of the day (a delicate sea bass) was coated in a strongly flavoured crust and squid ink sauce that overpowered the fish; the raspberry dessert was stifled by tea leaves and texturally incohesive. Finally, the ragu with calamarata pasta was woefully one-note, and plating was unnecessarily finicky. The food is bringing this place down.

It is advertised as a gourmet restaurant. We had the 5-course Degustation menu for €95 per person. There’s also a wine accompaniment for €30 per person As a starter we had a bread and sesame crumbed scallop. The taste of the sesame was so intense that you couldn’t taste anything of the scallop anymore. The black pasta with shrimp tartar was very good. The tortellini style pasta with codfish was OK and tasted a little bit like the pasta before. The main dish was seabass. Rather bland. As dessert we got one small boule of Pannacotta. Overall, the dining experience on the quality of the food was underwhelming.
