It is indeed a nice restaurant, food is very intriquing, it is perfect for a first date where you can have a light dinner that leave you free for the night.

We visited this restaurant and placed an order, but unfortunately we were unable to eat anything. The fish did not seem fresh, and there was an unpleasant smell inside the restaurant, which immediately raised concerns. When we asked to use the toilet, the only employee-who was preparing sushi-asked us to wait while he checked if it was clean. He then returned to food preparation without using gloves or following basic hygiene practices, which was unacceptable. There were also no suitable options for children. We had to go to the Lebanese restaurant next door (Chez Sami) to buy a platter for our child, which was a much better experience. We are honestly surprised by the high ratings of this place. Based on what we experienced, it is hard to believe that all the positive reviews reflect genuine customer experiences. In the end, we informed him that we could not eat the sushi, asked for the bill, paid, and left without eating anything.

During your visit, our staff took the time to show and explain the quality and color of the fish to reassure you. We always encourage tasting, as freshness is best assessed through the product itself. Regarding hygiene, strict food safety procedures are followed at all times, including proper handwashing. We also check the toilet before directing customers to ensure it is clean and ready for use. Finally, we do offer options suitable for children, such as nigiri and uramaki with avocado, cucumber, or mango. I’ve been to Makitails about 4 times now, with colleagues, family and friends, and it’s been consistently great every single time. The food is really delicious and quite different from what you usually find in Japanese restaurants in Geneva. It feels more creative, a bit unexpected and always very tasty. It’s one of those places you keep going back to without getting bored. Definitely recommend.

We had a great dinner. Sushi was Fresh and tasty We had spicy edamame, Korean salmon, Spicy tuna roll, Crispy skin roll, Tuna nagiri and Tuna sashimi. Although I had to chase extra ginger a couple of times, the server was very friendly and personal. The discount from Fork made it an excellent choice for a Friday night! We would go back.

If you want to visit an expensive and empty place next to the train station and to be served by a lonely janitor (a very nice young guy who doesn't speak any language and calls his boss every time he is asked a question), this is an ideal venue for you.
