Great first meal in Italy. We'd booked here based on the reviews and ratings, and were not disappointed. Forget the fact that the restaurant is associated with a hotel - this tasted like home-cooked, fresh, perfectly - portioned, traditional local Italian food. The pasta was fresh, the meats were prepared with local, seasonal ingredients, everything tasted amazing and we were glad to have bookended our trip to Modena with dinners here.

Food always unexpectedly good in a location like the BW. Service a little confused and imprecise, but nothing major. Location not the best. Ambience a little cold and hotelly, All in all a very good stopover for a good meal as you drive between Milan and bologna
