Obviously popular, the staff were rushed off their feet and still managed to be happy and efficient. The food was good - the one disappointment being the risotto which was VERY overcooked. And that is the only reason I did not give the food a 5. So it seems a little unfair that the food score counts for 50%!

Food was really good, the service very attent. Was a perfect dinner for us 6. I had vitello tonnato, maybe on this dish add more sauce and less cappertjes. overall all was good.

Karakter is a real gem. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Arnhem - the staff is always kind and lovely, the food is of great quality and absolutely delicious. The portions are big in size, good prices, and short waiting time. Pretty outside dining area, with heating lamps. In addition, I have a gluten allergy, and they always showed good awareness and extra care. Nice to have also a gluten free option for beer. Long story short, excellent place under every point of view. Can’t recommend it enough! :)

We are English and our Dutch is minimal, the waiter made sure this wasn't a problem and was friendly. Food was very tasty, and good value, would definitely go again.
