food was amazing, staff very attentive

I expected a lot more from a Michelin rated restaurant, even if just Bibe Gourmande. We made reservations for my husband’s birthday and the place was empty! Figured it was because we eat early. Both of my courses were extremely salty, and I loveeee salt! Everyone tells me that I oversalt everything, but I couldn’t eat my food! My carbonara was un eatable, which is a shame for our special occasion dinner in Rome. I told the server and his reply was “of course it is salty, both the cheeses and the meat are salty”. I had carbonara next day in Florence and it was spectacular. Romane was also full of fruit flies, we spent all night swatting them from our wine glasses. Also constantly had to ask the server for assistance, they didn’t came to the table at all unless asked. I get relaxed eating in Italy, but to never check on your guests when there are only 2 tables in the entire restaurant is unacceptable

Excellent Roman food and friendly service.

Yow! It started out w the BEST crusty sourdough dipped in peppery olive oil. We ordered a few of the classic Roman Trastevere dishes, the mixed heart, liver, etc sauté — very rich and savory. The carbonara did not disappoint, with a bright yellow color from happy eggs and chewy, salty guincale. After the tender, sautéed lamb and a few side greens, we raised the white flag, having done our best.

I researched restaurants in Rome for a good couple weeks prior to going with my wife. I used Michelin as the main guide but not only reference point. I booked four dinners and Romanè was out absolute favorite for its food and super friendly staff. Ambiance was plain, so short on five stars (brightly lit, tables very close by, simply decorated) but the food and wine and spirit were great. It’ll be the first place I book next time. Also, there are multiple Romane’s so be sure you know which one you’re going to.

As my husband wasn't feeling too well, we only ordered an appetiser and pasta, the olive oil recommended while we waited was delicious. It was from a contracted farm; one variety was tangy and refreshing, the other had a mellow flavour. For starters, we had polpette. The filling had a flavour reminiscent of corned beef. We also ordered pomodoro and lasagne. The pomodoro like homemade taste. The lasagne had a very crispy, quite hard, burnt cheese crust around the edges, and the flavours of the meat sauce and white sauce were not particularly noticeable. Having enjoyed the olive oil at the start, we ran out of bread. When we asked for more, a male staff member rather plonked a bag of bread from the neighbouring table onto our table, which left an impression. The female staff member was extremely kind, attentive to our needs, and asked if everything was alright and if we were satisfied with the flavour. However, the taste.

Pasta was very good

Good atmosphere and ambience. Both the carbonara and lasagna were unfortunately overly salty; could not finish either dish. The polpette had great texture and flavor. Had high expectations coming in, but sadly left disappointed overall.

The service was very slow and not attentive. The food quality was not as good as expected.

So, there were some good things and some not so good things. Positive was that it was very welcoming. Staff was very friendly. On the negative, we ordered starters, pasta and meat. I’ve never had a Roman restaurant deviate from serving pasta before meat. We didn’t specify, and we received meat and pasta together at the same time. I think this is wrong, and it was tough to overcome this mistake. Also, lamb was a bit cold and dry, and the saltilbocca was tough and not very tasty. Chicken Cacciatore was pretty cold. Pastas were decent. Best part of the meal was the bread from Roscioli Forno, but I could go to the bakery for that. All-in-all, in our week in Rome, we ate several places better. Not sure what Michelin is thinking specifically calling this place out. Though cool to see a different neighborhood than the busy center.

Food was very overcooked and lacked the flavors of Italy.

The pasta was very nice, the meat and everything deep fried was not. I think the frying grease hasn’t been changed in a while. Also coffee was cold. For me it doesn’t deserve the Michelin gourmand rating.

The food was actually the worst we had while we were visiting Italy. Additionally, there were flys everywhere on the ceiling panels and the bathroom had a cockroach in it as well. We were shocked it made it on Michelin Guide.

Good food and atmosphere. Subpar overwhelmed service.

Pasta was the best we’ve had in the last few days in Rome. Both the Saltimbocca and the braised lamb we succulent and generous.
