We have a long experience of Japanese cuisine since 50 years and many trips to Japan. Takayama is definitely above the average, especially among Japanese restaurant outside Japan. The atmosphere of the restaurant cannot rival truly Japanese locales but it is still OK for a European setting. The rest is top: friendly and efficient service, wide selection of menus, fresh and delicious food, reasonable prices, esp. for the quality and difficult to procure some ingredients

We had a sashimi platter, which was okay. The tuna was very DARK and not very appealing. Shrimp Gyoza was very good as were the yellowtail and salmon handrolls were really very good!

Thank for your feedback, this part of the tuna fish the color is dark because normally we did the order the whole fish to cut it in slices so the whole tuna has many parts of his body and that why every part will has a different color like fat tuna or the stomach……. Teams of Takayama
