Taverna Del Rey is exactly what you look for in Alfama. The ambiance, decor, servers and of course the Fado singers were all amazing!!! The food was incredibly fresh and delicious! I mentioned upon arrival that we were celebrating my sisters birthday, the server waited until she went to the bathroom to come and tell me that the last song would be a happy birthday song for her sung by everyone! She was truly shocked and said she loved everything about her birthday here! Highly recommend this place!

My family and I came to the restaurant to watch the musical show but we did not see any show because of the delay. There is no respect for the customers who are there for the show. I will not repeat the experience / and the quality of the food is very poor.

Our fado evening at Taverna del Rey was a once in a lifetime experience. The ambience, the service, the food, all authentic and with a homemade touch. And oooh, the fado. The owner of the restaurant has had it for 45 years, she chimed in singing, and throughout the evening friends and fellow singers joined in. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
