Went to a restaurant close to Padrão dos Descobrimentos for lunch 3 years ago and we wanted to go back there for dinner but it was fully booked on 3 Apr. Vela Latina was the next option and thankfully we could reserve a table an hour or so beforehand. Due to a delay on arrival, we managed to modify our booking to a time slot 30min later. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing. The fact it is close to Torre de Belém is a bonus. The food offered is excellent too. Due to having too much food during the past few days, we only had starters and main courses with no rooms for desserts.

We made the right choice in choosing this restaurant. There is a good value glass of champagne and the fish dishes are superbly seasoned.

The food always excelllent. The service to request food was good but then impossible to find a waiter to pay the bill so we had to walk over to the cashier desk directly.

Very good lunch with the family. We all tried different starters and main courses and everything was excellent. Thoroughly recommend the livers on apple tart.

As always great welcoming atmosphere. I’m not an often guest so glad that quality and taste of the food stays great. The only moment that confused me this time is a still water was smelling like a raw water from the pipes and glassed red wine was taste cheep like shiraz or so. Both were served from the open bottles and not opened in from of me.

There are only a few places like Vela Latina. Every time I visit Lisbon, I make sure I have at least one meal here. The location, the quality of service and the quality of the menu are exemplary.

I was unwell after eating their oysters as a starter. I contacted their customer service and they looked into the case but their response was very disappointing and not understanding. I would have expected that a restaurant of this standing would have dealt with the situation very differently. I am very disappointed and will NOT go back back again.

It’s simply a place you should go if you want somewhere to eat out in Lisbon. We were recommended by a friend and we’re not disappinted

The food was mediocre, services is slow and people were ignorant beside that is expensive for no reason. I wouldn’t recommend the Restaurant to anyone

Very nice restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere and great service. We ordered the seasonal dishes, and we don’t regret. Good option for any family planning to visit Torre de Belem, and looking for a good place to have lunch.
