Great service and alternative food options

The dinner was very impressive. I had very little ideas of what to expect with the Portuguese food, but was very impressed! The flavors were amazing, and my 9 yr old was even pleased! Great ambiance and service as well.

We found all the food very enjoyable and very reasonably priced. Service was friendly and the decor is nice. Would absolutely recommend a visit.

Excellent food, always! My parents are vegan suspicious, and they became vegan lovers! A miracle happened over lunch, thanks to the wonderful food

Food was good! But even though the restaurant specifies that they speak English, we got a waiter that only spoke Portuguese, and kept reverting to it. Afterwards, they asked to tip them, what?

Visited for a birthday meal with 4 non vegan friends - everyone really enjoyed the food! We had such gorgeous, friendly service - would definitely return!

+1A very tidy atmosphere with an upmarket vibe. The staff were very approachable and communicated well. The food was classy and the deserts were yummy.

Had a mediocre experience a year or so ago, but wanted to give Avó another chance. We went with four non-vegans and everyone really liked their food. Everything was very tasty. My friend´s husband said his polvo tasted a bit funny...because he didn't realize it was a vegan restaurant, even though she told him. LOL.

incredible food! I'm coming back for sure. we had the steak, the " polvo" Rice, croquetes and the almofadinhas de "alheira". everything was delicious. what a homy feeling!

Highly recommend booking, as they don't seem to accept walk-ins. The overall experience was good. The staff was helpful in explaining the options and making a choice despite the language barrier. The food was tasty although it may have been lacking stronger tones at times. I would have appreciated a stronger combination of flavours. Nevertheless, it was a nice meal. The dessert (creme brulee) was great.

Space is cool and clean, choice of food is very varied and creative. Unfortunately the quantity and quality have both decreased during the last year, when it used to be great. This has been common in vegan restaurants. The waiters were very nice at first but really pushy to get customers out after the reservation slot, which I would understand if the restaurant wasn’t still half empty 20 min after we got up. I’ll come back because I really used to love the place and don’t think 5 stars should be the standard. I still recommend it if you are looking for a great variety vegan takes on traditional Portuguese food.
