We felt overly rushed, which is not the typical experience we are going for when we think of Italian dining. We had just received our menus, and the waiter, literally within 20 seconds, came to ask if we were all set on what we wanted to order. We said "No, not yet."....and he came back literally one minute later to ask again, and we had to send him away once more. When the food did come, the lamb chops were dry and over cooked, even though we ordered medium rare, and the grilled vegetables must have surely been cooked hours earlier and just heated up again because they were also dry. The carbonara was excellent. There was also a group of about 20 people who were with a tour group that probably explains why our experience wasn't what we expected. Overall, this place seems like it caters to tourists rather than locals.

We did a Palermo “secret foodie tour” during a holiday visit (highly recommend) and asked our very knowledgeable local tour guide for one or two restaurant recommendations in Palermo and he immediately mentioned A’Nica which happened to be just blocks from where we were staying so we made a reservation. We were blown away by how good this approachable and reasonably priced restaurant was. They have an extensive and interesting pizza menu and my husband and I thought the pizza we ordered with shaved porchetta and lemon was one of the best we have ever eaten — and that’s saying something! We also shared the pistachio crusted lamb chops and the pasta with sun-dried tomato and basil pesto and both were fantastic. The portions were so generous that we took food home with us and the bill was very reasonable even with a couple of superb Negronis. And service was attentive and top notch! Our only regret was not being able to try more of their great menu!

I told them that I had booked through The Fork and confirmed the discount. However, after making the payment, I realized that the discount had not been applied. In addition, while I was waiting for my dessert, a waiter repeatedly came to ask me if I wanted to order something else, with increasing impatience, because they had actually forgotten my order.

Sat on the outside edge of the outside seating, perfect. The spaghetti al parmigiano verde was the best meal I had in two weeks, and I had some very good ones.

The food was probably the best we had during our 3 weeks in Sicily. We went back again the next night. We’d probably still be eating there now but sadly had to come home. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. The staff were efficient, friendly and polite. A’nica is highly recommended by us
