10/10It is everything you want a classic French brasserie to be - shiny brass trim, elegant lighting, a decorative glass ceiling. The menu is different from other bistros reflecting its Alsatian roots. We had a fish cooked in a creamy sauce that was delicious. The station for making flaming crêpe Suzette was near our table, so we ordered that just to watch the show! All in all, a great dining experience.

7/10We made a reservation several weeks in advance looking to enjoy the beautiful interior. Instead, we had a table by the entry doorway with no good view of the interior. We felt poorly treated and it is unlikely we will return.

9/10Our waiter was highly professional and appeared to enjoy his work, with enough English to compensate for my beginner’s English. The choucroute is justifiably famous, and the rich butter sauce for the sea bass marinere was a revelation. The crepes flambee was the only letdown—tasty but nothing special.

4/10First, they tried to seat us upstairs in Siberia, even though it was early and empty on the main floor and we had a reservation. We were offered glasses of rose champagne which we assumed was complimentary but it was 16 euro each. No water was offered or provided. The Bofinger platter of shellfish was sparse and a total ripoff at 84 euros. At the end, the waiter who we had rarely seen had the nerve to ask us if we would like to add a tip. Having been here before, we felt that the entire experience had really deteriorated.

10/10The food was delicious, but honestly, what made the meal truly memorable was the exceptional service. The servers were kind, professional, and had such amazing attention to detail. They made our tasty meal such an elevated experience.

5.5/10almost cold choucroute with meats cooked hours before, tiny pot of mustard… no joy in the presentation. Dessert was a scoop of non descript white sorbet in mango juice from a bottle. Standard six escargots were ok, just like anywhere else.

6.5/10The behavior of our waiter was absolutely appalling. The treatment he serviced us with was extremely upsetting and our children were even able to witness it. He’s tall, thin & with dark hair (no beard). I’ll be happy to come in and point him out. He should be fired for his actions. We believe that because we are Americans he behaved this way. We’ve been in France over a week (Paris & Burrgundy) and thankfully this is the first time we had to explain to our 8 year old & 6 year old that some people don’t like us simply because of where we come from. We cannot pronounce French words well but we still deserve to be treated with respect. He didn’t come to take our drinks for over 20 minutes +. He came to ask my husband to move his chair but refused to get our drinks for way too long. He rudely told us we couldn’t order oysters unless we ordered our entire meal. Maybe this is true but he was very rude about it. He was upset my young children were splitting 1 Orangina. We can’t be sure what specifically set him off to treat us so poorly. My husband and I ordered champagne & a bottle of wine. He chastised us for ordering still tap water and he didn’t bring it until he saw us ask a much nicer server we saw nearby. His response after 40 mins of no water was “Tap, I’ll try”. My 8 year old asked why he was smirking at us in a mean way throughout dinner. At the end of our dinner….after dessert and as we were about to leave he angrily placed 2 bottles of water on our table. You can be sure I’ll be writing on every review platform I can find to say “Americans Beware”. We paid over $250 euros and he ruined our dining experience with a smirk. Im utterly disheartened and also disgusted my family with 2 young girls had to endure this treatment. The food was delicious, the oysters particularly were fabulous and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Every other employee we encountered in the restaurant was as kind and courteous but as we say in America….”One bad apple can ruin the bunch” We will never return and you can be certain we will go out of our way tell everyone we know to avoid this establishment.

10/10The experience and the food and ambience were all fantastic. We enjoyed this restaurant experience immensely. Was a little nervous the food/service would be lacking because it’s been around so long and tourists come here often but if was excellent in every way. The tower of shellfish was top rate and the grilled lobster was the best lobster I’ve had. And I know my lobster! The cook and seasoning were perfection. Great experience and no way as expensive as most decent restaurants in New York City.

8/10The typical French ambiance was a pleasant surprise. The food (lunch menu) was okay for the price, similar to Eiffel tower menu (excluding the pig feet). Overall, a good experience, especially if you like a vintage decor.

9/10Always a great place to get the neat seafood or Alsatian. Setting is marvelously Parisian, combining some exquisite rudeness from our maitre to having wonderful small talk with people sitting at the nearby table. Anytime again.

8.5/10If possible, book a table downstairs under the cupola, it is a stupendous dining room. Don’t hesitate to order a single portion for two people and share it. The staff are definitely happy about this. We did it with our fois gras starter, and we should have done the same with the choucroute house special. In fact we couldn’t finish this Alsace dish of boiled cabbage, potato and ham hock. The Alsace beers were also excellent
