10/10Food was excellent…the pastel de nata dessert was one of the best desserts I have ever had…superb. Service was also on point…attentive without being over bearing. Our waiter Leonardo is a credit to Federico.

7.5/10The last time we were in LIS, we walked through the bar and wanted to eat here. Unfortunately, the restaurant was disappointing. They don’t update their menus, could not make the cocktail we ordered and was serving a different wine by the glass than the menu. Additionally, while the restaurant was relatively empty, we had a long wait while others arriving after us received their entrees. If in the area, it’s a definite must see given the ambiance, but I’d go elsewhere for dinner.

7/10We chose Frederico’s for the last night of our stay in Lisbon based on the excellent reviews. Our experience did not reflect the reviews we had read. The food was delicious and we had absolutely no complaints there at all, but the service was non existent! We had to ask 3 times before one of the drinks appeared and at no point were we asked if we wanted anymore drinks. There were massive gaps in our courses which would not have been quite as noticeable if we hadn’t been sitting with both empty water and drinks glasses. We eventually asked where our main course was. We were offered the dessert menu which then took 20 minutes to appear. At the end of the meal we asked to speak to whoever was in charge and were told he had left. The member of staff we spoke to apologised for our disappointment, but added we were not the first people to complain. They then went on to tell us that waiters in Portugal don’t care about the customers. This has certainly not been our experience during our visit

9.5/10The food is outstanding, truly exquisitely, prepared with subtle and interesting flavors and textures. The foie gras was particularly amazing, and I’m a real fan of various versions, so I can tell when it’s good. Service is plentiful & friendly, but a tad fragmented, (too many people running around without good coordination.) Nothing that can’t be easily coped with, but they should consider smoothing out the rough edges in what is overall a very high-end experience. The music and the noise level is slightly louder than ideal, but that may be what they’re going for on purpose. For a small restaurant, I would prefer something a bit quieter and soothing. But you should definitely give this place a try, it is a serious enterprise, and the quality of everything is fairly priced for the high value.
