10/10Fantastic seafood quality, perfectly quiet & intimate ambience, and attentive service. Also, the chef is very accommodating to a vegetarian diet, which is a rare find among Japanese restaurants. Well worth a visit for the kaiseki, despite the slightly remote location.

9/10Amazing food, tremendous quality, at the level of the best Japanese you will find anywhere in the world! The atmosphere could be more interactive, a little less traditional, and more of a relation between the kitchen and the customers (which in the end is the whole concept of the restaurant). In my perspective there was missing the music, even if something very very shallow in the background. But overall a unique and very recommendable experience!

9.5/10Kanazawa is the classical Japanese one counter restaurant. The chef is right there in front, personal service with inventiveness and ingredients of the highest order. This is a restaurant worth visiting every time the menu changes!

10/10A sensational authentic experience. Finally real Japanese food and not adapted to our western plates. The place is minimalist with only 9 seats so be patient to get a reservation. A little easier to get a seat at lunch than at dinner. Ideal for 2 people as you eat at the counter, Japanese style.

10/10Best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Please visit if you’re in Lisbon and order the seven course menu. You will not regret it. Check their webpage for reservations.

9.5/10If you like Japanese this is an excelent option. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because of the ambience that is not the same as other restaurants with similar quality in food and service. But in the defense of the restaurant I must say, this is not what they intend to provide their clients with -they are focused in that quality of the food and the informal yet professional service. For food and service I give it a 10. Usually I never eat nigiris when I do Japanese, but at this restaurant, my God, the nigiris are the best I have had in my life - can remember the scalop one, the toro, the shrimp, etc. We had the menu of 9 experiences. It was 120 euros without the sake experience and 150 with the sake. I don't drink so my wife included the sake experience that is served with every food round. Entry was awesome. Again something I would not have by choice but left me impressed. The sashimi that followed was top quality - so fresh and with a combination of several fish. Though I was going to be full right then and there. other things came which were great creations, until a final round of I think about 10 nigiris, one at a time and with its individuality, an experience each time. So I would not call this the 9 experiences but the 20 experiences. The ambiance is just a simple counter for eight people but with enough distance so that you can keep your conversation with your partner, private enough. The chef is there preparing the food in front of you and he has a helper when he cannot handle the eight people at once. This is not a pretentious spot. It is simple but delivers what most of us who love entering food trips, are looking for. Great value for the price. Menu changes every month so we will definitely go back to see what the menu will be. Congratulations!

10/10It's just a seated counter top with 8 seats so it's you facing the chef and his helper. I loved the straight-forward simplicity and lack of fuss. Often times there was a hush amongst diners as we watched the chef make each course. Then people would "ahhhh" in pleasure at each bite. As the chef placed each dish in front of you, he explains what it is. He was very warm to questions which made it an even greater pleasure. It's almost akin to a boutique dining experience -- intimate, direct attention and care, and of the highest quality. Some of the flavors were new and truly innovative such as a charcoal bbq nuance to one of the shrimps along with some kind of salt that made every single diner lost their minds in a Wow reaction. The fish is of the highest quality and there is real passion and creativity. 10/10 and would definitely repeat.

10/10Amazing place with amazing food, amazing value and staff are very friendly, almost didnt finish the food simply because it was too much. Sea urchin is so fresh that it tasted like nothing but sweet and freshness! Sashimi and sushi are both superb, best restaurant throughout our visit in lisbon so far, chef even asked if we had enough and wanted some more, best value sushi I’ve ever had, a must visit!
