Serge Labrosse is a real star. His cuisine is magnificent and inventive, and the ambience in La Chaumière is delightful. Great food, great presentation, great team, excellent selection of wines. Really wonderful combination. Serge Labrosse est une vraie vedette. Sa cuisine est magnifique et inventive, et l'ambiance de La Chaumière est délicieuse. Bonne nourriture, bonne présentation, super équipe, excellente sélection de vins. Combinaison vraiment merveilleuse.

The service was a disaster for a one star restaurant like La chaumière is. The room was almost empty, and we had to wait between each plate around 20min. They literally ignored us sometime. We were served by an intern (which is of course not a problem), however, we were very surprised to see that she was left alone on the room and was not able to answer the basic questions of the dishes. Even a simple question about a cheese type, she was not able to answer. It is not her fault, she was trying her best, but no one was in the room to watch her, and our service suffered from it. Again, for a one star restaurant, this kind of service is simply not acceptable.

I have heard a lot of good recommendations for this restaurant, so we decided to try it for our year-end dinner at work. The service was very good and we enjoyed ourselves otherwise, but gastronomically I do mot see a Michelin star level. Every time I go to a Michelin star restaurant, the food may or may not be to my tasting, but it never has obvious flaws. This time, absolutely all my side dishes were over-salted to a degree that I had to leave them all on the plate after trying. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so we didn’t say anything, but luckily I wasn’t very hungry.

Excellent dishes all the way, we had their 6 courses dégustation menu,very refreshing dishes, feature lots od seafood for mid-Sept dining,Iike every dish, especially the Fera and the mussel/zucchini cannolini dish. Their service can be a bit quicker, even for a Saturday evening : )

The food is amazing. Some of the waiters are new and “try too hard” to please you (it’s not as fluid as with someone more confident and experienced) but this is not a big deal. However I was disappointed that there were kids shrieking and yelling in the public playground immediately next to us (separated by a small hedge) - not a good ambiance for a Michelin-star restaurant. I know the use of a public playground is out of restaurant’s control, on other hand maybe don’t put tables right next to playground?? The kids left about 20:30, after which I was entirely satisfied with my experience.

Excellent ! We went for our post civil wedding lunch and had an amazing time. Fantastic staff, excellent food and a perfect setting. Would 100 % recommend.
