8.5/10Excellent ambience and an interesting concept. Sadly one of our orders was a duck confit that arrived really undercooked and was sent back to come back only ever so slightly more done. The other dishes did not outlive our expectations. There was a superb live musician that made the whole night a great experience, plus the location is very pleasant.

The outstanding service, delectable cuisine, and delightful ambiance made for an unforgettable evening. However, there was an unfortunate incident towards the end that detracted from an otherwise flawless visit. From the moment we stepped into Maria Batata Restaurante, the staff provided attentive and accommodating service. Their professionalism and warm demeanor were evident throughout the evening, adding a personal touch to our dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu, along with their thoughtful recommendations, heightened our culinary journey. The food at Maria Batata Restaurante was ok. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the culinary skills of the talented kitchen team. The flavors were vibrant, the presentation was artful, and the portion sizes were generous. It was evident that careful thought and attention to detail went into creating every dish. The ambiance of Maria Batata Restaurante was both elegant and inviting. The tasteful decor, combined with the cozy lighting, created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. It was the perfect setting to unwind, engage in conversation, and savor the remarkable food being served. Unfortunately, the evening took an unexpected turn during the settling of the bill. As we prepared to leave, we were asked to proceed to the reception area where the assumed manager, at Maria Batata Restaurante, was engrossed in a phone conversation. Regrettably, she failed to acknowledge our presence, continuing her conversation for an extended period. After waiting for approximately ten minutes, I felt compelled to interrupt and express our desire to pay. Only then did she conclude her call and ask if we wished to file a complaint, offering us a complaints book. I want to emphasize that our intention was never to file a complaint or escalate the situation further. All we wanted was to settle the bill and leave. The lack of acknowledgment and the extended delay left us feeling somewhat disheartened after an otherwise outstanding dining experience at Maria Batata Restaurante. In light of this, I sincerely hope that the management of Maria Batata Restaurante takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issue promptly. The professionalism and exceptional service exhibited by the majority of the staff deserve recognition and preservation. We genuinely enjoyed our time at Maria Batata Restaurante and would gladly return in the future, provided this unfortunate incident does not repeat itself. Despite the incident at the end, I highly recommend Maria Batata Restaurante to those seeking an unforgettable dining experience. The combination of outstanding service, exquisite cuisine, and inviting ambiance make it a noteworthy destination. 5.5/10Food was just OK. The service was terrible. We were told to order the complete meal beforehand because there was another table with more people and they won’t be able to process all the orders at the same time. We were the only two people seated at the time. Also, the server could not, or want not, explain the dishes. When ordering a margarita we asked if it was on the rocks or frozen and were told that they just make it the correct way????

5/10Nice food, service a bit erratic, but beware of the mosquitoes, they are everywhere, including inside the restaurant. Service is slow, especially the time taken to produce the bill and pay.

6.5/10Nice place, a bit outdated. A bit disappointment about the food…. The piglets (really small portion) were cold and stil not really hot when returned to the kitchen. The chicken breast was okay. The plates look great but again not really hot. Appetizer octopus was really good. Black pudding also good, but not really hot.

10/10A real surprise for us having been living in the region for 7 years and only just discovering this lovely restaurant. Think €70/couple including house wine for three courses each. Well cooked and innovative. We’ll be back..

9.5/10Great ambience. Good food. Steak was divine. A bright spot and a different type of restaurant in the silver coast. Pricey compared to local Portuguese cuisine around Obidos / Caldas.

10/10We could not have chosen better. The place itself is so innovative and special. The dining experience should include a solo walk around the hotel, the shop, the garden, the swimming pool etc to understand the such special place you are at. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding and the crew working there are so nice, professional and willing to help at all times. We will definitely return back in the future when in Obidos. Do not hesitate! This is your place to be!

5.5/10The food is good and the setting lovely, but the service doesn’t match the place. It’s confused at best, perhaps overwhelmed, and our server had little knowledge of either the food or wine. Eventually, our table was completely ignored. After some time, another server partly cleared our finished meal. At least another 30 minutes passed before anyone came over to adk about dessert. Our original server never came back.
