It is easy to miss this little gem as it is close to the station but a little out of the centre. We sat outside for lunch and the service and food was faultless. We had pica pao, chicken salad and chips with a delicious homemade mint lemonade. Very thoughtful and attentive service, including bringing a specially made and delicious cheese / herby / fruity salad as a starter as I said I couldn’t eat gluten. Fabulous lunch, we will be back soon 😋

We love eating here as the food is delicious and the service is amazing. The owner came out to ask for our feedback. I tried the eggs Benedict which had a delicious hollandaise sauce, salmon, avocado, etc. It was very tasty and innovative. My husband tried had spaghetti with mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach. It was very flavorful.

I made dinner reservations for a date night out with my wife. We had visited Maria Xica earlier this year on Valentines Day and had enjoyed a lovely pre-set menu so we were excited to explore the tapas and other dishes we had seen on the menu during that visit. We were not disappointed from the tremendous personal attention we received during the ordering process, explanation of dishes and even a friendly warning that we were ordering " a lot". We enjoyed a vast array of the tapas with the Piri Piri and Choco Frito topping the list of memorable favorites. The Douro wine was an excellent accompany to our wide variety of dishes and the panna cotta with fresh berries topped off a perfect night. We will be back gain soon! Highly recommend!

We visited this restaurant for the first time for their Valentine’s Night dinner for two. Everything made for a great evening. Excellent service in Portuguese, as we are practicing it and in English when we went astray. The food was amazing, the recommended wine pairing was delicious and the deserts were memorable. Just a fantastic experience. It had been recommended by friends and now we know why and highly recommend it as well!

it's a hidden gem. the atmosphere is lovely. the host is passionate and friendly. good was quick. quality and execution of food was a huge surprise. it was magical. this place exceeded my expectations. I will be back.

Not to be missed. We stopped here for lunch on our way from Lisbon to Porto. So glad we did because the dishes were delicious We. Had mussels, codfish mixed with chick peas and a meat dish. All were superb.

This was our first visit with good friends, to Maria XICA's Restaurant and we couldn't be more pleased. The menu had a wonderful array of delicious menu choices, making it difficult to decide. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was lovely. We had our pup with us and the mgmt accommodated Bella in their comfortable outdoor seating. After sharing bites we all decided Maria XICA is a 5* restaurant and plans are forthcoming to return. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Maria, the owner and chef, stopped by our table to ask if we were enjoying our meal. She is very sweet and her visit was a nice touch to our lunch date.
