9.5/10Koji Nakai is a food wizard, every thing about food is very very good!!! But , and I hope I will have to retract that, the wine is to expensive according the quality. It is 40% more expensive than in other restaurants.

10/10What a wonderful experience. The decor has a stylish simplicity with tasteful contrasting textures and fabrics. We were greeted warmly, and the menu explained to us. Our waitress was a young Filipina woman who could not have been more charming and helpful (wish I could remember her name: evening of Dec 16). And then the food. WOW. Every single thing we ordered was excellent. Our first two dishes were the OPEN YOUR MIND tekoyaki: meat balls filled with octopus sauce, coconut cream, Aonori topping and Kastuobushi. What a great dish: would always be on my must-get list here. With that we got the JAPANESE TACOS Prawns Tempura, salmon tartare, dry tomatoes and guacamole on shrimp chips. Equally delicious and also a must-have. Then followed a large plate, the excellent MORIAWASE SASHIMI (Chef selection according to the market) and because it was a cold night, we got the EXOTIC PAD THAI Rice pasta cooked with fish and vegetables, mint and lemongrass, toasted almond chips. Hot and flavorful. The only beer they had on the menu was Sapporo which went very well with the meal. Excellent experience: if you want a change up from Italian while in Rome - great choice.

10/10I found this place on The Fork because we were looking for a restaurant near the Vatican, as we were trying to visit, and Nakai did not disappoint! The food was excellent here and unique. We had some rolls we have never tasted before -- unique combinations Italian-style. I also had the yakisoba, which was fantastic.

9.5/10The sushi was one of the best I have ever had. I would absolutely recommand this restaurant. Located nearby the vatican but still very quiet. Nice decoration and very friendly owner.

9/10Great food! We tried the mouth meeting takoyaki, pad Thai, octopus desserts and much more. Everything had its own distinctive taste and was very well presented. The waitresses were very professional and were very attentive to our needs. The only negative thing is that the place was cold when we arrived, we were the first to arrive at 7:15p.m., at our request they immediately turned the heater on but we would have not expected this in a high quality restaurant. Other than this bravo to the the chef Nakai and the staff!
