Wonderful surprise for us. We 1st visited this restaurant about 4 years ago, and it was at the time a good Trattoria. But, we visited maybe 4-6 other times and noticed he was introducing new special dishes from time to time. This time when we returned for dinner recently they had elevated the entire restaurant, staff and menu to a new level of top quality! We recently enjoyed the lunch tasting menu, and if you want a wow factor meal, this is it! Top quality restaurant in the most charming small towns. Every dish was a work of art and a top chef creation of tastes and textures. Highly recommend this place if you like top quality food, and service that goes with it perfectly. Grazie mille Paolino once again! Bravo!

We had the AllA MaNo tasting menu with wine pairing. From start to finish service was excellent. An explanation of each course was provided as well as where each wine pairing originated from. Glad we chose to do the tasting menu as it would have been difficult to choose otherwise. Ambience of the restaurant was 10/10 as well.

So you are in the middle of nowhere in deep Tuscany countryside. It’s another medieval hill top village. No parking. Well down the hill there is but that hill is steep. You enter this restaurant and are in heaven. Brilliant food. Great staff. Great vaulted ceiling. Yes it’s to hot to eat outside but inside it’s cool. Welcoming. Excellent wine list. This is a restaurant not to be missed. Best food we had in Tuscany and that included the Four Seasons in Florence. You have to scratch your head and wonder how a restaurant as good as this finds itself in such an out of the way beautiful Tuscan village. Go you won’t be disappointed. The good news is it’s down hill to the car park! Let you into a secret I sent my wife to collect the car.

Exceptional experience!! We chose the chef’s choice 5 course option and each dish was a visual delight. Unique flavors with local/seasonal ingredients. Impeccable service. We’ll be talking about this meal for months. Well worth the price $60 Euro and the drive.

The customer was excellent and they explained in details every plate that they served. I had a glass of a Nobile Montepulciano red wine that was amazing and independent of how expensive it was by the glass I had a sencond glass. Our food was perfect and exquisite. Kudos to all the personnel and specially to the amazing Chef !!!

This restaurant has fabulous food, unique ambiance and wonderful staff. Situated in the small village of Monticchiello, the main dining area inside has the feel of a Chianti cantina. Arched ceilings of terra cotta and furniture from centuries past. I loved every aspect of the experience!

Very nice setting and dining experience. Good attentive service. Excellent food. Veal cheeks were the best that I have had and the pici pasta was delicious. The wine list was exceptional- great bottle of vino nobile riserva.

On a cold overcast day I did not know what I wanted to do with my day. So I scanned The Fork and found this restaurant. There are two highly rated restaurants in this small town and in the end I decided on this one! It did not disappoint. The food was good but the service even better becaUe of Andrea. He was kind and let me struggle through my Italian. I can imagine a evening meal would be exceptional but I loved being there on a quiet Tuesday for lunch. Worth the visit to this charming town.

This was THE highlight of our trip to Italy. Not only was the food the absolute best thing we ate out of many beautiful things, the server and the chef were so hospitable. This chef really should be famous. His brilliant pairings between the food and the wine were innovative, and really perfectly balanced. As of someone, I find this incredibly rare. The dessert was a once in a lifetime spectacle of white chocolate, olive, and almond. The ambience was cool on the inside and reminded you of being in an Italian grandmothers seller eating with her family. I’ve literally never had an experience like this, and I likely will not again. an absolute jewel in Pienza.

The restaurant offers not only top-notch food but also an unforgettable experience. We came for dinner and ended up with much more. The staff was well-informed and ensured we felt cared for throughout our visit. They explained each dish in detail, helping us both taste and understand the cuisine. Despite having just 12 options on the menu, the food was among the best we've ever had. It's clear the team put significant effort into perfecting each element before serving it. The ambience exceeded our expectations as well; the quietness of Monticchiello in the evening made it feel like a private city tour. Overall, Fra Paolino has earned our loyalty, and we are eager to recommend it to others!
