10/10Tonight the weather was perfect foe dining outdoors, and Senior García did not let us down. We shared a plate of chiparones, and then each had different mains; tripe with sausage and black pudding, tenderloin in mushroom port sauce, and a steak tartare. All were delicious, washed down with a bottle of terrific rioja. Coffee to top it off. You should go to this place!

10/10This is a total unexpected gem. The food was delicious. We sat outside and it was glorious. It is in the middle of a neighborhood about 20 minutes from The Puerta Del Sol but super easy metro access! This was close to our hotel near Cuatro Caminos and it was top shelf. Cod is their specialty but we had a solomillo and it was wonderful. Don't be offput by the humble exterior!

9/10This is a great place to go if you want true authentic Spanish food. The service was wonderful and the wine was incredible. I do wish the plates had more elements to them as they seemed very basic for the price, but they were great nonetheless.

10/10I don’t speak Spanish but I know enough to get by a little bit. The owners/waiters don’t know English but they made it work and they were very attentive. The food was EXCELLENT. It wasn’t cheap but the quality was definitely worth it

9.5/10The food and service was absolutely great. We had the Cod “SpanishFlag” the Tripe, Ham and Tomato salad with an Apple Tart desert. Everything was fantastic. I ordered in Spanish and they were very nice.

7/10The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was just not our style. The options were limited - tripe, foie gras, and a stewed cod dish, steak. We all ordered some version of the traditional stewed cod. It was not our thing. Tomato salad with jamon appetizer: the tomatoes were meh but the jamon was delicious. A VERY noisy group of men was dining next to us. Nothing the restaurant could do about that. The waiter was so kind and attentive. We felt badly that we didn’t enjoy the food.

Afirma con rotundidad que sus callos a la madrileña son los mejores de Madrid, y por la extensa clientela que tiene, debe ser cierto. La Taberna San Mamés es un pequeño rincón de esos de toda la vida, en el que podrás saborear una cocina tradicional bien hecha.
El espacio es pequeño, acogedor, de ambiente castizo y atención muy cercana. Prueba, además de los callos, el bacalao ajoarriero con langostinos, otra especialidad de la casa; aunque el entrecot de buey del valle de Laciana también vale la pena.
Su céntrica ubicación lo hace muy accesible, y el servicio te gustará tanto que repetirás la visita. Tiene nombre de santo y de estadio vasco, pero la Taberna San Mamés es el lugar ideal si quieres probar la cocina de la región.
